CJ Stroud has become the talk of the NFL town very quickly. The Rookie has just played 9 games with the Houston Texans but broke the records that were created back in 1937 by twice the margin! For a lot of people, Stroud is in the MVP conversation, and it seems like there is no holding him back after his 356-yard game against the Bengals.

Pat McAfee caught notice of this performance so much so that he displayed nothing but respect for the rookie QB after his successful participation in 75% of the 9 games that he played with the Texans. It all started with the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Stroud gave his best performance of this season.

The last two games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals have helped CJ Stroud enter the MVP conversation. Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk dived deep into the Stroud lore and brought out some interesting facts and figures about him. In a recent episode on his channel, McAfee was seen mentioning to AJ Hawk,

“He’s the one”.

Per McAfee, Stroud astonishingly has the numbers that no rookie should have at such an early stage of their career. Despite the fairly new team that Stroud is playing with, he has carried the Texans this season single-handedly. “He’s not just good AJ, he is phenomenal,” was the continuous praise from the Podcast host for the QB.

Stroud was playing against the Bengals with some of his best guys absent in the game, and yet he still led the team to a close victory. He came out with 356 passing yards and a touchdown in the Bengals game. CJ Stroud just kept on throwing quick passes and made 23 out of his 39 attempts.

So far, CJ Stroud has 826 passing yards, 7 touchdowns, and 2 game-winning drives this season. The rookie QB is leading the NFL in passing yards this time around. He has broken the record of passing yards per game throughout the NFL history. No rookie has been able to do it since 1939 beating Davie O’Brien’s record of 120.4 yards and Sammy Baugh’s 102.5 yards that he passed for in 1937.

Stroud has only been intercepted twice in the season, against the Bengals. But the rookie covered his blunders and plummeted through to beat the Cincinnati team. It is phenomenal to see how CJ Stroud has come so far, so quickly. “He rallies the troops, he rallies the city, he’s the guy,” said McAfee praising the young QB. The Texans are playing the Cardinals next and hopefully, CJ Stroud can keep the same vigor going, impressing everyone around.
