Is it too soon to compare the QB of the Philadelphia Eagles to the GOAT of football? His teammate doesn’t think so. After his latest clutch victory in the game against the Buffalo Bills, many are sold on the idea that Jalen Hurts belongs in the company of the future Hall of Famer, and 6x Super Bowl winner, Tom Brady.

The praise came from an unlikely person who lauded him for his win over the Buffalo Bills. With the Eagles now 10-1, and having vanquished formidable enemies such as the Bills, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Miami Dolphins, they have secured a playoff berth next year.

Pat McAfee took to X to express his admiration for Jalen Hurts and the way he led the Eagles to victory in Week 12. “What a win for Philly. Jalen Hurts is the calmest coolest dude at the park every week.” Hurts was the epitome of calm amid the storm of a Bills offense that poured in on early. In the first half of the game, the Bills secured a 17-7 lead.

But then Hurts decided he was not having it and jumped in with full force. In the second half, and during overtime, the QB completed 70% of his passes for 167 yards. He also recorded 3 passing TDs and the game-winning 17-yard rushing score.

Impressed with his QB’s performance DE, Brandon Graham told reporters, “They always talk about Tom Brady. With the drives at the end, I’m hoping Jalen starts getting that name.” After an exceptional Sunday’s performance, even more good news awaits the Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles secure an early playoff berth

In just week 12 of the season, the Eagles have secured a ticket to the playoffs. Earlier this year in February, they had lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVII. Now they have set their sights on becoming the 9th team in the Super Bowl era, to win the Super Bowl after failing to win it in the previous year.

Of the 8 such teams, only the Cowboys in 1971 and the Dolphins in 1972 won the Super Bowl the following year. If Jalen Hurts and Co. continue to play the way they have been so far, it doesn’t look like mere wishful thinking.

“He made a lot of really, really clutch plays in the second half, and the big one right at the end of the game there,” Head Coach Nick Sirianni spoke of Hurts after the game. Soaring high at the top of the league, will the Eagles continue their winning streak in the coming week as well?
