The New England Patriots seems to have found a gem in CB Christian Gonzalez. Having picked him out as a 17th overall draft selected from Oregan Ducks. The Patriots CB was able to pull off an unthinkable by receiving praise from the Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill. When these two came up against each other last season, Hill was on a verbal warpath against Mac Jones and the Patriots faithful. Although his team was able to pull off a 24-17 victory, one player left a lasting impression on the WR.

Gonzalez is one of the 11 new young starters that were added to the Patriots defense. Among them are Christian Barmore, Kyle Dugger, Marcus Jones, and Josh Uche. Although none of them have been able to shine so far, Gonzalez managed to catch the eye of the league’s most electrifying WR in only his second start. And, the Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez came up with his reply to the praises he received one year back.

Speaking on the Up & Adams show hosted by Kay Adams, Gonzalez replied, “He’s one of the best ever to do it I mean, everybody knows what he brings to the table Speed Speed Speed Groundrunning. He’s a Game Changer, so to be able to have that is its fun to have that match-up. And I am excited.” Unfortunately, last season, the New England CB wasn’t able to come up against Hill for a second time as he ended up suffering a torn labrum.

That injury also resulted in a dislocated shoulder, thereby ending Gonzalez’s season early. However, he ended up making a mark on WR Hill before that. Reminiscing their match-up, the Cheetah had a few things to share on an episode of the “It Needed To Be Said” podcast, “I was able to go against their rookie. He’s real good.” Referring to Gonzalez’s interception that was aimed toward Hill but came up a little short. Continuing on his praise, Hill said, “Very lengthy corner, had some real good technique and speed about him. So they’ve got some real good pieces over there in New England, man. So shout out to New England.”

Seems like Hill might also be waiting for that chance to come back against Gonzalez yet again. And continue where they left off last season in Gillette Stadium. Nonetheless, Gonzalez and Hill are scheduled to meet this season when the Dolphins will face off against the Patriots in Week 5. But, it would be a new version of Hill that the Patriots will face as the WR recently declared his change of ambition for the team’s success.

Tyreek Hill aims to change the Dolphins’ season this time around

Before the start of this NFL season, Tyreek Hill came forward by renouncing his dream of a 2,000-yard goal. Instead, he wants to shift his focus to overall team success. Citing his reason, Hill said, “I want us to win a playoff game; I would love that. We’re going to start with that, then moving forward, like continuing to build on that. You know, we’re going to move up to the Super Bowl. So it’s like one step at a time.” Talking about his 2,000-yard goal, Hill was pretty close to that achievement, having finished with 1,799 yards last season. However, injury derailed him and he couldn’t achieve his goal.

It might seem a bit surprising, but Hill dropping the idea of a 2,000-yard goal isn’t out of the blue, as the last time the Dolphins won a playoff match was back in 2000. Meanwhile, their Super Bowl record is abysmal as the team from Miami last played a Super Bowl match in 1985. Therefore, he seems to be quite adamant about breaking these unwanted records while guiding the team to success as ‘one of their leaders.’ This might not be all, as the Cheetah has also made his way to the EA Madden 25, 99 rating club.

Having performed exceptionally well last season with 1799 yards, 21 touchdowns, and a 99 speed rate, Hill’s records speak for themselves. Will Tyreek be able to take the Dolphins deeper into playoffs this NFL season? Or will the Cheetah fail to deliver as the Dolphins’ search for the Super Bowl crown continues?
