Pete McAfee rightly said, “he’s a man that’s currently defeating an Achilles surgery faster than any human in the history of Achilles surgeries.” Medical research suggests that the average recovery period for Achilles injury (an athlete’s greatest fear) for an average person is 4-6 months, not to mention the long rehab procedure. Aaron Rodgers, however, is looking to cut that time short in three months. But how is he making the miracle happen?

During his appearance on Pat McAfee’s show, Rodgers shared some interesting ancient methods he’s been relying on while focusing on a speedy recovery. The 4x MVP also shared a special coffee recipe that has been helping him in his rehab.

When A-Rod suffered the injury in the New York Jets season opener, it was predicted by many as the end of his season. But just like many times in his career, Rodgers shocked the NFL community as he got out of support within one-and-a-half months. He remains confident that he would possibly making a comeback in mid-December. Interestingly, he shared some details on what he’s been doing to make it all happen.

Talking to Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, the host jokingly asked how he could work on his Achilles. Interestingly, Rodgers detailed the ancient remedies he chose to rely on alongside the medical procedure and rehab. “My morning coffee drinks, there’s some Chinese herbs there”, replied Rodgers, drawing a wild “Ooohhh” response from McAfee and co-host A.J. Hawk. “Chinese herbs have been around for thousands of years”, Rodgers said to calm them down. “There’s a lot of great mushrooms as well that are not psychedelic. Those are great too, but a lot of great mushrooms are non-psychoactive that are good for you”, the QB further added.

McAfee later joked that the mushrooms might have been the reasons Rodgers looks so young sometimes. He also joked that Rodgers might be trying to get jacked up with all of that coffee. To which the QB replied, “I’m always trying to get jocked but the protein’s later you know, after the workout, after the rehab and all that.”

And all these methods seem to be fruitfully working for Rodgers, who has already set his comeback time in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers expects a mid-December comeback

In an interview with NFL reporter Melissa Stark, Aaron Rodgers claimed he was expecting a comeback by mid-December. That time was a further improvement from his earlier teased year-end comeback.  Although he believes it’s still a long way to go before he is 100% fit, Rodgers has trusted in his recovery and himself.

But again, he admitted on Pat McAfee’s show that his timeline was not exactly spot on. But again, he admitted on his weekly spot on The Pat McAfee Show that his timeline conveyed to Stark was not exactly spot on. He told the host that he may not be quite ready to return to the field, but he plans to return to the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center full-time come Thanksgiving. Rodgers said, “I’ll be back there full-time real soon, real soon. That’s always been the plan once we got to Thanksgiving, to be back there full-time. It’s the holiday season — Thanksgiving, my birthday [December 2] and Christmas. Three in a row.”

Back when Rodgers, who turns 40 in three weeks, visited the Jets squad before the Eagles game, the Jets managed to put down the undefeated Eagles. Which is still the only loss for the franchise. If only his presence and pep talks were that useful for the struggling Jets to get better of the current Super Bowl runner-ups, it doesn’t need an explanation of how it would affect the team when he returns alongside Zach Wilson as a player.
