Though Magic Johnson has felt that adrenaline rush during his decades-long NBA career, he is new to the world of ownership. Last year, the billionaire bought a 4% stake in the Commanders. This year, the team struck gold in the form of Jayden Daniels. But if you own an NFL franchise, you have to be headstrong. Magic Johnson learned it firsthand today during the week 7 game against the Panthers.
During the first quarter of the game, the rookie suffered a rib injury and was taken to the locker room. After the NBA legend got to know about it, he posted an emotional message on X that read, “I’m praying that Jayden Daniels’ injury is not serious! 🙏🏾” Well, the billionaire doesn’t need to worry that much.

Though everyone was worried when the rookie was taken to the locker room, positive updates are emerging. The first update came from Regina Jackson, Jayden Daniels’ mother, who tweeted that he’s fine. The second good update was from a source that claimed that the X-ray scans didn’t have any major injury.
Going by the Commanders‘ domination against the Panthers, Magic Johnson can trust his locker room to back up the rookie quarterback. At the end of the 3rd quarter, his team was leading with 37-0. Yes, you read that right! The team was just crushing their rivals. However, we understand where Johnson’s concern is coming from.

Mind blown by the victory, Magic Johnson congratulated the quarterback and team: “He (Jayden Daniels) excelled in his Monday Night debut and set a NFL record high completion percentage for a rookie! I’m so proud of our entire team and so excited for our fanbase all across the country, especially in the DMV!” It shows how much involved he is with the team. He might not be sharing advice game wise, emotionally, the NBA legend is fully connected.
The Commanders’ fans are pumped up. More than 3 decades have passed since their last Super Bowl win. But with Jayden Daniels at the helm of the affairs, it looks like an achievable dream. Johnson would be over the moon if they do so this year.
