A particular player of the Dallas Cowboys has been garnering praise for himself. Awarded with the tags of the “breakout candidate” and the “secret superstar” by PFF, Osawaru Odighizuwa has impressed fans and analysts alike with his play in Dallas. The latest member to join this train is the Eagles’ Jason Kelce.

Kelce appreciated the Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle, Odighizuwa while discussing a matchup the Eagles had against the Cowboys. The Philadelphia Eagles center appreciated the play of Odighizuwa during a conversation with Chris Long and Beau Allen on his podcast, New Heights. Kelce talked about how he was taken by surprise when Odighizuwa pulled a new technique out of his pocket.

Odighizuwa mastered Jason Kelce’s silent count

talking about his encounters with Dallas’s tackle last season, Kelce revealed how the Cowboys had hacked their snap count. “I think he took a big step this year, and they [the Cowboys] were all over our snap count,” Kelce said, discussing how he was impressed by how Dallas had a “great beat on” the Eagles’ silent count, “Or he was just getting an amazing get off at home. And he got on me a couple of times on the snap and completely surprised me.”

Kelce further explained how Odighizuwa took him by surprise by one-upping him during a game. This was especially astonishing as Kelce should ideally be in control of the counts, but somehow Odighizuwa would beat him to it.

But usually I can,” Kelce said, “Especially on the silent count, I can cheat it right because I am the one controlling it. That’s why it was unique. Like normally silent count, I get off the ball quicker than everybody else.”

This is Osawaru Odighizuwa’s third season with the Cowboys after being drafted in the third round in 2021.
