Puka Nacua credited the maestro Cooper Kupp for his rise to the top.
In the recent edition of “The Pat McAfee Show,” the former punter introduced Nakua. He first revealed, “Man is just 28 yards away from breaking a receiving record for a rookie in NFL history.” Nakua first appreciated his team and QB Matthew Stafford for allowing him to succeed. AJ quickly asked about his interactions with the Rams mainstay since 2017, WR Cooper Kupp.

Puka Nacua quickly acknowledged Cooper Kupp’s hand in honing his skills, “Biggest help to me from the day I stepped in here.” He applauded Cupp for sharing all the knowledge “he has in this offense.” He was quick to notice Kupp’s abilities, “The ability to win routes and the ability to understand coverage.”
He further added in appreciation, “He gave everything to me.” He gave more insights on the same, “When I was asking questions, he was taking the time to give it.” Young Nacua added that Kupp always ensured he understood the concepts in depth. WR Nacua said, “He made the game so much easier.” He shared an instance regarding Kupp calling out the play first.
Nacua added, “You are a genius, bro.” The comment left everyone in splits. Puka Nacua knows how to keep the effort going on and off the field. He is right on his way to overtake legends.

Nacua’s 15 receptions in a game against San Francisco in Week 2 set the NFL rookie single-game receptions record. Moreover, his 25 receptions through two weeks set the league record for catches by a rookie in his first two career games.
With five TDs, Nacua has covered 1,445 yards with one game left in the regular season. Sooner or later, he will overtake legendary WR Bill Groman, who holds the record for covering most receiving yards (1,473) in a season. He achieved the record in 1960. Ja’ Marr Chase came close (1,455) in 2021 but could not reach the milestone.

Puka Nacua will surely break the longstanding record if he keeps performing the same. Everyone took notice of the young talent in the game against the Colts. In the thrilling contest, Nacua recorded the game-winning TD in the end and covered 163 yards, averaging 18.1. He has his team’s backing, and the young find is happy to keep performing with the game’s greats. The Rams have won six in the last seven games and will face the 49ers this week.
