Fans call Jordan Love the second coming of Aaron Rodgers after he and the Packers decimated the Dallas Cowboys. But that isn’t enough to intimidate the San Francisco 49ers head coach, Kyle Shanahan. He plans to let the Packers QB1 do his thing and see how it plays out. People would think the 49ers would try to disrupt Love as much as possible, but that does not seem to be the case.
Kyle Shanahan appeared in a press conference ahead of the 49ers-Packers game and spilled the tea about what the 49ers have been up to. They have been on a hiatus for a while, and people are curious about what they’ve been up to. By the looks of it, Shanahan thinks he can score an effortless win against the Green Bay team.
Has Kyle Shanahan become complacent?

In his position, it’s hard not to get complacent. However, it’s also his job to ensure the team wins, and he has plans for that. The reporter mentioned how Jordan Love started “fast” in the Cowboys game and spoke about how the Cowboys could not disrupt his rhythm. The 49ers HC was asked whether he would take possession early on or choose the usual route.
The HC replied with a simple “no.” He mentioned he would not start with the possession just because Jordan Love was able to find a rhythm in the Cowboys game early on. He doesn’t plan to disrupt Jordan Love at all.
“I mean, I think he can have rhythm in the beginning of third quarter, too. I think he had some good rhythm on the second drive also. I mean, I don’t think it’s because he started with the ball personally, but that’s just everyone’s preference. It’s always good to get to a big lead; it’s also good to score at the end of the second quarter and get the ball first, just like Dallas did,“ added Shanahan as justification.
However, there are a few things about deferring the ball to the second half to get an extra edge.
What would the Niners get if they deferred the ball?

Shanahan was asked why the 49ers would keep things as they are and the advantage of having the ball later. The HC added that this strategy would help them “lap” Jordan Love. Deferring the ball gives the Niners a chance to gain extra possession.
He has been following this insight religiously since he joined the league, and it is safe to say that there is no point in changing something that’s not broken. Hence, the Niners plan to play their usual game with more flare and dominance.
