As the Philadelphia Eagles suffered a shocking loss against the Arizona Cardinals, the world seems to have it out for head coach Nick Sirianni. Amidst this, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs has come to the support of Sirianni on the latest edition of the ‘New Heights’ podcast.
The podcast is a weekly show by brothers Jason and Travis Kelce during the NFL season. One of the features of the pod is that the brothers discuss their games with each other. And with the Eagles in a slump, Sirianni’s name was bound to pop up. Interestingly, however, the younger brother sang a different tune to the rest of the world.

With the latest loss, the Eagles are 1-4 in their last five games. And the talks of Sirianni’s replacement have gained volume. The HC’s tactics are being thoroughly scrutinized and have come under fire from fans and the media alike. But Travis finds positives even in the loss.
As Jason was updating him on certain plays that worked in the game and certain that did not, Travis interjected by saying, “He (Sirianni) always senses the play”. Both brothers agreed to the tactical know-how of the 42-year-old coach.

However, it is not the sensible plays that Sirianni makes that are the question. It is his approach to personnel changes that have caused a lot of uproar. With a sudden change in the defensive coordinator with a winning record, these issues are at the forefront now.

Before the season even began, Sirianni lost two of the gems in his coaching staff. OC Shane Steichen and DC Jonathan Gannon left the Eagles for head coach positions elsewhere. Sirianni placed Sean Desai as the new DC and Brian Johnson as OC.
However, after back-to-back losses and crumbling defensive performances, Desai was demoted, and Matt Patricia was promoted to DC. But, the results haven’t fared much better since then either. With the Eagles losing 2 in their past 3 games after the change.
