The game is on. The season is halfway done. Now, every game matters. It’s now or never. The Packers will play against the Detroit Lions at the Lambeau Field on November 3. Though the Lions are high on confidence with 5 wins in a row, it’s time to exercise caution. Reason? The Stadium itself. Lambeau Field has a record of players slipping on the grass. The head coach, Dan Campbell, is a smart and logical man and gave the solution.
He knows that one key factor during the preparation is carefully studying the venue. His message before the week 9 matchup resonated with his thinking that was, “Shoes. That’s the message. The right shoes.” He’s right. The Kentucky bluegrass and the synthetic surface is a challenge. But now that they have got the advice, it’s better to act upon it.

Dan Campbell’s message to the Lions as they prepare for Packers:
“Shoes. That’s the message. The right shoes. We’re going to Lambeau, it’s grass, nationally-televised game, 3:25 central, for the division — it just doesn’t get any better than this. What else do I need to say?”

The week 9 matchup would be intense as the NFC North divisional rivals are fighting for the top spot. While the Packers are sitting at a 6-2 win-loss record, the Lions have a better 6-1 win-loss record. The Pack would be eager to displace their rivals from the top of the division. It wouldn’t be an easy task. Particularly after their last two games, Dan Campbell’s team is looking formidable.
In the week 7 matchup against Vikings, the Lions won by 31-29 in last 15 seconds by the Jake Bates‘ 44-yard field goal. The week 8 matchup against Titans was an annihilation with 52-14. Jared Goff led from the fron with 3 touchdowns in just 85 yards and 12 of 15 passes. Packers, too, have last 4 games, however, their matchups have remained close. In week 8 game against Jaguars, they won by 30-27 in the last second as Brandon McManus scored a 24-yard field goal.

Dan Campbell knows how to maneuver at Lambeau Field
Over the years, we’ve seen the teams lose just because they didn’t pay attention to the footwear. Fans have seen their favorite players slip, slide, and fall. But Lions are used to this. They wore those cleats with big spikes during the last regular season game in 2022 and defeated the Packers.

However, playing with those 7-studded cleats ain’t an easy task. Dan Campbell revealed the pain behind wearing such shoes before the 2022 game and said, “It’s like putting rocks in your shoes and then going out there and running around. They just hurt, but that’s a small price to pay to keep your feet and not let your teammate down.” If we go by the current form they are in, the locker room is locked in for victory, no matter what the conditions are.
The team’s strategy must be the same for the week 9 matchup. Practice using those shoes and get used to the conditions. That’s the only way to win. While their feet might hurt for some time, nothing is as painful as a defeat, particularly when it breaks your winning streak.
