Josh Allen used his team’s bye week to the best of his virtue. The Bills QB, who was dating Hollywood actress Hailee Steinfeld, got engaged in the most dreamy fashion possible. They decided to surprise their fans with a joint Instagram post that was simply captioned, “♾️ 11•22•24 ♾️.” Although the caption might not have spilled the whole reason behind the post, their picture did answer all the queries.
Allen was captured bending down on one of his knees while Steinfeld leaned toward him, probably kissing while their foreheads pressed against each other. Well, they sure did plan the aesthetics before. Cylindrical candles surrounded the two, and a massive floral arch was in the middle. With the ocean and sun blazing down in the background, they couldn’t have hoped for a perfect engagement photo.
So to congratulate them on their new chapter, Steinfeld’s mom, Cheri decided to post the same on her Instagram with the caption, “It’s official! They’re engaged!!!! 🩷💍” And she wasn’t the only Steinfeld who dropped their reactions after the surprise announcement. Even Steinfeld’s brother, Griffin, shared the couple’s engagement photo in his Ig story. Unlike others, he didn’t just congratulate them but called it “One of the greatest days of my life.”

Well, the Steinfeld family weren’t the only ones dropping their reactions to the post. American Actor Chad Michael Murray commented, “Congrats brother!!!” Well, women’s tennis legend Serena Williams also joined in with her thoughts, “Omg I love you.” Others like Sara Sampaio gave a simple yet lovely “Congratulations.” Even Bills’ official Instagram account wrote, “LET’s GOOOOOO!!” to express their excitement. Anyone who has followed their relationship won’t really be surprised to see them embark on a new chapter together.
Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld’s relationship timeline
You would have to go back to May 2023. That’s when the first time rumors of them dating first came out to the public. They were first photographed together in New York City when Allen had his arm around the Spiderman actress. But it was not until July of this year that they kind of confirmed their relationship. Allen posted a picture of them looking toward the Eiffel Tower, taking to his Instagram.

Even last year in August, Allen decided to hop on the Pardon My Take Podcast to give his insights about some challenges they faced together. There were several headlines of them making out with his girlfriend, which Allen addressed, saying, “The fact that anybody cares about that still blows my mind.” They even added how it made them feel ‘grossed’ and ‘insecure’ about appearing in public together.
However, two months after that interview, Josh Allen and Steinfeld decided to drop their first public appearance at an NHL game in Buffalo. Photographers captured both of them in the stands enjoying the game from a suite. Just last month, they were even trying to avoid a ‘bad omen’ by giving each other similar Christmas presents.
So what did the couple have possibly bought to match each other’s liking? Well, they went for the same cooking knife as Steinfeld later explained, “After we exchanged our knives lol, he told me there’s an old wive’s tale that if you significant other a knife you have to pay for it, otherwise it signifies the severing of a relationship. So we exchanged quarters so we didn’t have that bad omen.” Now, seeing the two engaged, it seems like everything paid off. The couple could now set their sights on a possible marriage date in the coming months or years down the line.
