Before the Chiefs took on the Eagles in New Orleans, Gracie Hunt read out a verse from the Bible, centered around faith. But by the time the Chiefs got on the scoreboard that faith had evaporated among their fans and perhaps only a divine intervention could’ve saved them. Patrick Mahomes was sacked six times and picked off twice as the Eagles left the defending champions gasping for air en route to their third Lombardi Trophy success. As the Chiefs Kingdom, used to success on the big stage, dealt with the defeat that ended their hopes of a historic 3-peat, Gracie Hunt shared a message of gratitude and faith- faith that they will be back.

The Chiefs will have a lot to ponder over as they recover from this crushing defeat. Travis Kelce’s future, addressing the offensive issues, and how they pick themselves up after this season will be key issues that Clark Hunt will need to address this season. But as the Chiefs Kingdom licks its wounds, team heiress Gracie Hunt traded gridiron gloom for coastal calm—and a prayerful laugh.

Gracie’s posted Instagram stories highlighted which had a serene clip of two friends kayaking turquoise waters, their yellow boat bobbing like a Cheeto in a swimming pool with an abundance of humpback whales around the boat. The punchline? “Glad they weren’t swallowed”—a nod to the ocean’s whimsy.

The duo, clad in life vests and sun hats, paddled past rocky cliffs that screamed Moana vibes. Her next story had two glasses on the floor in front of a garden with the caption, “bottoms up for the turmeric shots.” Another one of her stories featured a skincare advert. It looks like Gracie is healing in her own way following the humbling by the Eagles. She also posted a photo in a bikini outfit a few hours before these stories and it also carried what might have been a subtle message to the Chiefs fans.

“Sometimes a wave crashes down on you, but you shake it off, paddle back out, and wait for the next one. The ride isn’t over yet,” Gracie wrote. While this may have been an indirect statement of hope for those still reeling from the Super Bowl defeat, she was more direct in her assurance to the Chiefs kingdom immediately after the game.

“Praise Him when you win. Praise Him when you lose. 💔 It wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but so proud of this team’s heart and the incredible season we had,” she wrote in the IG post, where she is seen posing with the rest of the Hunt family.

“Thank you to every person in the Chiefs organization for going above and beyond in all you do—we love you like family. Thank you to the incredible fans who bleed red with us. You all are the heartbeat of Chiefs Kingdom and are truly the best fans in the NFL. We’ll be back Chiefs Kingdom,” she added.

Gracie has been a constant source of support for her team, cheering them through every step of the way. Earlier, when the Chiefs beat the Bills in the AFC Championship game, Gracie was quick to shower praise on Patrick Mahomes.

“You’ve seen Patrick [Mahomes] be so bold in his faith and thanking God right off the bat when we won the AFC Championship. Boldness empowers boldness, and it’s just so refreshing to see, and I think he’s such a light to everybody around him,” she said. Meanwhile, she wasn’t the only member of the Hunt family who offered gratitude and resonated the message of faith in Andy Reid’s team.

The Chiefs were brushed aside by a ruthless Eagles side for a 40-22 win. They were unable to handle the Philadelphia Eagles front four all game long and it took them until the third quarter to get on the scoreboard, by which time the Lombardi was already getting decorated in Eagles colors.

Reid and men will be expected to bounce back strongly and Tavia Hunt, the wife of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, also shared a message urging her team to move on and come back strongly.

Sharing a post on IG, she wrote, “Heartbroken, but so incredibly grateful.🙏🏼 This season, this journey, and all the joy along the way have been a blessing. Chiefs Kingdom, you are the best fans. We don’t hang our heads—and we take the high road. Adversity makes us stronger, and we will lean in, learn, and grow from it.”
