Is Lamar Jackson the right leader to pull the Ravens out of this early-season slump?

Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens are off to a rough start in the 2024 season, sitting at 0-2 after a tight 26-23 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The kind of start no team would like to have! This is the first time since 2015 they have lost the first two games of the season. Now that might be a red flag for their playoff dreams.

And despite leading by 10 points in the fourth quarter, the Ravens couldn’t hold off a Raiders comeback, showing their defensive struggles. The team’s superstar Lamar Jackson had a mixed performance, completing 21 of 34 passes for 247 yards with a touchdown. And it seems like the loss has left one of the best dual threats in a dilemma!

Soon after the Ravens’ loss, the greatest running quarterback couldn’t resist showing his dissatisfaction. He said, “We gotta find our mojo. That’s not us at all.” Jackson also mentioned how the team needs to find a way to win. The quarterback is definitely not used to being one upped. He is hopeful that the team will soon catch momentum to get started right away.

And that’s not all! The NFL player is so focused on keeping his chin up that he has already started to aim for the next game. Despite feeling bad for the rough start and two losses, the three-time Pro Bowl receiver hopefully said, “Put points on the board, and just finish people, just finish them.”

And if you think that Jackson is just being optimistic, then you are definitely wrong. The two-time MVP is not just optimistic, he has got a whole plan to win. “We have the lead, just keep scoring, find a way,” QB added. While Jackson is being so optimistic about the upcoming matches, what led to their today’s loss?

Have an interesting take?

The Ravens started strong with a defensive shutdown in the first half, limiting the Raiders to just 43 total yards. But their defense faltered in the second half, giving up four touchdowns and 13 unanswered points, including a decisive field goal by Daniel Carlson. And that’s not even the whole picture!

Despite a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, the Ravens couldn’t maintain their momentum. Critical three-and-outs and only six second-half points let the Raiders regain control. A few key mistakes also turned the tables for the team. While Lamar Jackson had a total of 292 yards with one touchdown, he also threw an interception that contributed to the Ravens’ downfall.

To make matters worse, a controversial pass interference call set the stage for the Raiders’ game-tying touchdown. Special teams struggles, like a shanked punt, gave the Raiders a perfect chance for their game-winning drive.

Well, every team has a bad day, and maybe it was a bad day for the Ravens. With today’s loss, let us see how Lamar Jackson and the team gears up for the upcoming games!
