Will Mike McCarthy survive the season, or is Dez Bryant's prediction spot on?

Things are not really rosy for America’s team at the moment. 1-2 start, poor defensive performance in back-to-back games and holes in the roster on multiple offensive positions! The buck tends to stop with the GM and the head coach. In Dallas, Jerry Jones’ words matter the most. So, the buck will probably not stop at his doorstep. In that case, will the Dallas Cowboys oust Mike McCarthy from his job as head coach? Perhaps not just now, but curiosity about these topics has developed a lot in the market. All of this began with a comment made by a former Cowboys defensive end.

If you didn’t know, Chris Canty just appeared on the Unsportsmanlike radio show. The man has suggested that the Cowboys’ can potentially fire Mike McCarthy pretty soon. The head coach may no longer be able to effectively manage the team, as they are playing so poorly this season. Chris Canty even said that if the bad performance continues, the team would fire Mike McCarthy in the mid-season. The former DE stated, “If they lose tonight, Mike McCarthy won’t be the coach of the Dallas Cowboys after Thanksgiving. If they lose tonight, Mike McCarthy will be gone before December.”

Dallas Cowboys right now are gearing up to have a huge Thursday night game against the Giants. In case you don’t know, the Giants haven’t performed particularly well this season either. As things stand right now, there’s a risk the team might lose this game as well. In light of all these presumptions, the Cowboys are the favorites going in. But if the team fails to stand tall in this game, too, then maybe a change is indeed needed for them. Cowboys would want to make its Super Bowl drought end this year, but it appears that they will need to recover well from its present predicament to do so.

This was not the first time Mike McCarthy had a sword dangling over his head. Last year, there were rumors that Jerry Jones might fire the HC.

Jerry Jones is paying careful attention to the team’s performance before sacking Mike McCarthy.

The Dallas Cowboys performed well in the 2023 season, winning the NFC East division. The team was 12-5 at the time, but rumors of the HC’s firing were still there. Mike McCarthy was also concerned about job security at that time. When a reporter confronted Jerry Jones about the reports, the billionaire responded differently.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Mike McCarthy survive the season, or is Dez Bryant's prediction spot on?

Have an interesting take?

If you didn’t know, the Cowboys’ owner hinted at his role in the termination at the time. Jones stated that both team management and himself will be keenly monitoring the squad’s performance in the playoffs. Following that, the correct choice will be taken, but the firing at that time did not take place as the team performed well.

The Billionaire stated, “We’ll see how each game goes in the playoffs.” Although this is old news, all of these issues are being revisited following the Cowboys’ disappointing performance thus far.

What are your thoughts on this situation? Do you believe Mike McCarthy will be unemployed before the end of 2024?
