Brittany Mahomes has been in many headlines lately, and that she is Patrick Mahomes’ wife has nothing to do with it. This year, she has been closer to the Grammy-winning pop star Taylor Swift since she linked up with Travis Kelce and started appearing in Chiefs games. She also did it before, but her affiliation with Swift has brought in more attention. Again, these are only some reasons she has gained even more traction than ever.

The mother of two is sometimes under heavy scrutiny from netizens because of some incidents. One of the most recent ones is the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game. When the game ended, the wife of the Chiefs QB weighed in on the controversial call made by the referees. That was a controversial moment for many fans, and they might have clapped back at Brittany Mahomes because of this. Her recent Instagram Story says it all.

Brittany Mahomes has had enough of it

The reason for people to pour hate on her this time is unclear. It is speculated that she bolstered Patrick Mahomes when he shared a video of the referee calling him the “MVP.” Mahomes tweeted about the ref’s call to Kadarius Toney’s offside play.

In the wake of these events, Brittany Mahomes posted a story on IG and wrote, “Recently there has been A LOT more rude a** people on here, waaaay more then normal…Im not sure where yall came from, but you should probably go back to where you came from…please.”

In the last game against the New England Patriots, she posted a picture of her on the sidelines, rocking a coat that said “Mahomes” on the back of it. The picture was captioned “Gamedayyyy❤️.” While the usual comments were along the lines of supporting her, others were distasteful. Again, being in Taylor Swift’s inner circle might have backfired on Brittany Mahomes, as one fan wrote, “She is trying to be taylor swift so bad 😂😂,” in that post’s comment, and it just goes downhill.

But this is not the first time she’s received backlash. Opinions from the court of people are that she gets all this hate because of her behavior.

The backlash against Brittany Mahomes

When the Kansas City Chiefs lost 38-20 to the Buffalo Bills, Brittany said that the referees were never on the Chiefs’ side without thinking that a referee’s job is to be unbiased and that they don’t pick a “side.” The fans didn’t back away from giving her a hard time. 

She celebrated the win by opening a bottle of champagne and spraying it on people seated below her. Though the win was celebratory, people don’t like being sprayed with champagne, not when they are least expecting it. Again, the fans clapped back at her for this act of “celebration.“
