In his recent show, Smith addressed the situation regarding Payton and Wilson up front. First, he mocked people who thought Sean Payton’s actions were unjustified. He compared the approach with the legendary Phill Sims’ treatment from his coach and laid out certain similar examples. He was fast to acknowledge Wilson’s class after Payton’s behavior.

Smith thought for a second and appreciated Payton’s effort, “Give Sean Payton credit for a couple of things.” First, he pointed out the consistency that Payton brought to the team upon his arrival. The team has won six straight this season when they had five wins in the last.

According to Smith, the second reason is that Wilson secured a mouth-watering contract in the late end and should have produced results. He repeated Sean Payton’s recent statement after changing, “Yo that reign is over.” He quickly shed light on Payton’s decision to bench Wilson.
