The New York Giants are knee-deep in quarterback drama. With the Vikings bowing out of the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes, the veteran QB still hasn’t given the Giants a nod. And let’s be real—Brian Daboll and Co. are desperate to sign a signal caller for their 2025 campaign. And the word of the street is that they’re eyeing Colorado’s QB Shedeur Sanders for the April draft to lead their O-line. Amidst all this drama and speculations, one thing’s certain—the Giants are looking to bolster their offense this year.

Let’s cut to the chase: on Friday, the Giants signed the free agent wide receiver, Lil’Jordan Humphrey, on a one-year deal. The 26-year-old WR is entering his seventh year in the NFL after spending his first three seasons with the Saints, then making pit stops in New England and Denver. The team announced the news on their official ‘X’ handle, writing, “We have signed WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey ❗️”

Standing at a towering 6’4” and weighing 225 pounds, Humphrey was drafted by the Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL draft. In a career spanning six seasons across three franchises, the 26-year-old wideout appeared in 58 regular-season games with 23 starts. Across his three-seasons in New Orleans, the WR started six games out of 18 that he played and caught 16 passes for 295 yards and three TDs.

Fast forward to 2022 and the guy joined the Pats on a one-year deal. Humphrey finished his brief stint with the Patriots, with just two receptions for 20 yards before landing a two-year deal with the Broncos. While playing under Sean Payton’s Broncos, the WR appeared in every game over the last couple of seasons with the team.

He appeared in 34 games, catching 44 passes for 455 yards (recording his best numbers in the last season with 31 receptions for 293 yards). Now, here’s the deal—the Giants are surely looking to address their O-line holes this year. For starters, they’ve already re-signed their WR, Darius Slayton, to a three-year, $36 million deal.

On top of that, Brian Daboll and Co. also brought back their WR/return specialist, Ihrmir Smith-Marsette. The way things are shaping, no doubt the second-year wideout Malik Nabers will be getting a depth in the team’s WR corp. Nabers is coming after recording a thrilling rookie season (1,204 yards for 7 touchdowns).

But the big question’s still looming over the fans’ heads—and yeah, we’re talking about their QB drama.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Lil'Jordan Humphrey be the game-changer the Giants desperately need, or just another roster filler?

Brian Daboll could draft a QB in the first round

In the time being, one thing looks pretty certain—Aaron Rodgers is in no rush to decide where he would want to play in 2025. Sure, the Giants are waiting for his decision, but now that they’re heading towards the NFL draft, the team’s probably going to draft a QB. Now, that’s where things got pretty interesting.

See, as of now, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are expected to be the top-two picks in April. The kicker? Well, the Titans and the Browns are desperate to sign a QB and luckily hold the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks, respectively. That means by the time Brian Daboll and Co. would get a pick (No. 3 overall pick), Ward and Sanders might have gone. And that’s where the draft analyst Todd McShay comes in.

McShay believes that the Giants would go for Travis Hunter with their No. 3 pick. The reason? Well, of course, for his dual-role of WR and CB. “I think that the Giants could lean in Hunter’s direction. They would need to make a decision on how to get the most out of him on both sides of the ball, but my guess is that he would play a bigger role on offense here than he would if picked by some other organizations,” he reported. But what about the QB? I mean, Daboll still needs a QB, right?

Stick by us, because things are about to take a tricky turn here. McShay later reported that the Giants could send picks 34, 65 and a 2026 third-rounder to the Buccaneers in exchange for the 19th overall pick in the 2025 draft. The reason? See it this way: the Steelers who, by the way, are also stuck over Rodgers’ decision, could draft the Ole Miss QB, Jaxson Dart with their No. 21 pick. Uh-huh!

Now picture this: the Giants traded for the No. 19 pick in exchange of the picks 34, 65 and a 2026 third-rounder. There you go, Brian Daboll would surely want to draft Dart. “New York moves up from no. 34 to no. 19 for Dart,” McShay stated. The reason’s pretty simple. “Dart has the stronger arm and is more mobile, and if you look at Daboll’s track record (including Josh Allen in Buffalo and Jalen Hurts at Alabama), those traits very favorably work with what he asks for from his quarterback.”

On top of that, with Hunter and Dart in the mix, the Giants could be a long-term option for the Giants. BUT! For the official confirmation, we just need to wait for a month. Do let us know your view.
