The Cowboys’ ex-head coach Jimmy Johnson was back in his groove as he gave his former team a much-needed pep talk at halftime. The Packers humiliated the Cowboys on their home turf as the much-anticipated Wild Card round has lived up to its hype with all the attention it garnered.

The Cowboys and the Packers have played each other 8 times before in the playoffs, winning 4 each. The Packers registered their fifth and disposed of the Cowboys early with a thumping start.  The Cowboys have never lost a game at the AT&T whole season and needed to find the right inspiration through the words of the former coach to get back on the right track.

B/R Gridiron shared Johnson’s clip from live television on X, stating, “Legendary Dallas coach Jimmy Johnson had a message for the Cowboys at half.” Johnson pressed hard on the Cowboys during halftime like in the good old days, “Every single one of you, you know how hard we worked.”

He advised the Cowboys, “I don’t want anyone pointing the fingers,” while addressing how they need to continue doing what they have focused on ever since the start of the season. He indicated in a reassuring tone that they would win and asked them to, “Get your rear-end in there.” Johnson remarked that he wanted the defense to not give Jordan Love enough time to work with the ball and finished by saying, “You do what you’re supposed to do, we win this game.”

While the words sound like the right motivation, it takes more than just determination to grab a win. The right execution and the missing correct start might be the things that could edge out the Cowboys in this wild card playoffs game.
