The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and ‘difference maker’ (as called by Russell Wilson) is making change for real! The Steelers WR George Pickens is again making headlines for another important update. Before revealing if the update is good or bad, it’s the fact, which Pickens also can’t deny, that he has been a busy man in the NFL for the past two weeks.

From the NFL’s $22,511 fine for unnecessary roughness, losing and performing badly in the wild-card matchup, to being in the whirlwind of criticism by the reporters, the Steelers No. 14 has been through a lot of ups and downs. But this time, he looks to have a little purple feather on his cap!

The wide receiver has received a major award in the NFL. As y’all know, the NFL awards exceptional players for their plays by giving ‘The NFL Way to Play Award’. This time, the award is bestowed upon George Pickens. What great news for Pittsburgh! Though the season has ended for the Steelers, its players are still making names. Hence, Pickens sent a heartfelt message to fans after losing in the wild card: “Love y’all boys/girls Steelers nation. We’ll be back!! Much love.”

But talking about the award, it was surprising how Pickens was awarded for a wild card round despite not performing at the level people were expecting. In the wild-card round, he landed one 35-yard catch and run touchdown, but that came late. At the end of the first half, the Baltimore Ravens dominated and crushed the Steelers with a 21-0 score.

But the best thing is Pickens caught the ball at five out of five targets, along with rushing for 87 yards where the average stays at 17.4. Not bad, right?

In terms of touchdowns, Pickens has scored three touchdowns in the NFL this year and ranks at the 81st position among the wide receivers. The wide receiver has spent three years at the Steelers and he’s killing it. And the ‘Way to Play Award’ must have delighted the Steelers headquarters.

The Steelers ended the season on a bitter note. They couldn’t break the losing streak and lost the last six games. In fact, the wild-card round was 100 times more important than the other five losses. But how did it culminate? They lost the season even if they had a decent 10-7 regular season record.

But apart from playoffs, one shabby thing happened during their most watched game of the regular season- the Christmas Day game.

The Chiefs were ready to take down the Steeler. It was a crucial game to step up in the regular season. But George Pickens arrived late for the Chiefs game, per ProFootballNetwork. Actually, he suffered an injury that time and hadn’t played for three weeks earlier in the Chiefs game. So, even after the great opportunity to play, he appeared casual about the game. And reportedly no action was taken on George Pickens.
