Jerry Jones is a true master of puppets, pulling the strings and calling the shots like a pro. First, he kept everyone in the shadows over Mike McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys, and then he parted ways with him. Enter the head coach hunting saga and Jones hired Brian Schottenheimer over Deion Sanders. Sounds stranger, right? Well, ask Michael Irvin, who was pushing the Cowboys to go ahead with Coach Prime before this shocking revelation.
Right after the announcement of Schottenheimer’s hiring hit the headlines, Irvin hit up his YouTube channel and fired up over Jones and his decision. “Here’s my issue. We lost an opportunity here,” Irvin said. “I don’t know what will happen with coach Schottenheimer in the Dallas Cowboys, but Jerry’s a shrew businessman and this opportunity? I’m shocked he did not see. I was pushing for Deion Sanders to be the next head coach and I still stand 10 toes down on that push.”
Let’s be real for a moment. Irvin is not messing around at all. The thing is that the NFC East has two teams that are going to play the NFC Championship game today. But the Cowboys? Well, they’re still stuck in a never-ending loop of Jerry Jones’ tough decisions. Spoiler alert: they’ve been stuck in this loop for 30 years now and that’s what is frustrating for Irvin.

“Let me break this down. We have two NFC East teams in the NFC championship game being played tomorrow,” Irvin continued. “All eyes are on them. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington commanders, our enemies on all fronts. And they’re holding a position that we haven’t held in 30 f—-ng years, the longest drought by any NFC East team. Any NFC team. Period!”
That’s indeed a generation of disappointment if we’re being honest, right? Because at one side, we’ve the Kansas City Chiefs who are eyeing a third straight Super Bowl win. But the Cowboys? Nah, they haven’t lifted a Super Bowl in the last thirty years. The last time they’ve won a Super Bowl was back in 1995 season. And they had an opportunity to flip the tables in the following season after hiring Sanders. Alas, they overlooked him for Schottenheimer. If that will not fire Irvin up, then what will?
“We haven’t been there in 30 years,” he further said. “Let me just break down what that means to people because when they say it you said oh-uh but no oh-uh to that. That’s 30 damn years. 40 years is a generation. We got 30 years right here. Right now was critical mass. It was time to bring somebody in here that could shake things up and grab this last leg of Cowboys Nation.”
“If we got 30 years right now, life expectancy is 100 years, that means by math a third of Cowboys Nation has never felt to live the glory of a championship story, don’t even know about it. How the hell can they pass something on down or pass it down when they don’t even know about it? In 10 years that would have been a generation that knows nothing about a championship from the so-called America’s team.”
It’s a shocking stat, but the last generation to witness the Cowboys winning a Super Bowl is the 90s generations. Those were the days of glory of the America’s team when Jimmy Johnson led the team to two back-to-back Super Bowl in 1992 and 1993. Spoiler alert: Johnson grabbed the limelight during his tenure and Jerry Jones was pushed into the shadows. Then came his statement that hundreds of coaches could win with the team that he (Jones) put together.
Wanna guess what happened then? Due to his conflict with Jerry Jones, he parted ways with the team. Fast forward to now and after their last title, not a single coach had managed to win a Super Bowl for the Cowboys and now their enemies are eyeing for a spot in the Super Bowl today.

This season, the NFC East has been making some solid headlines. Besides the Cowboys and their controversial drama, the Commanders and the Eagles are surely in the limelight. For good reasons, though. Jayden Daniels entered pro football with a bang, smashing almost every rookie record that he could. But first, let’s talk about the elephant in the room.
The rookie just snapped a 9-year playoff drought for the Commanders, finally leading them back to the postseason for the first time since 2015. His records? He literally set some pretty record one after another. He finished his first regular season with most rushing yards (891) and highest completion rate of 69% by a rookie quarterback. The cherry on the top? Daniels was selected for the 2025 Pro Bowl games as he became just the fourth quarterback to do so since 1970.
Meanwhile, when it comes to Daniels’ opponent, Jalen Hurts‘ performance is nothing short of impeccable. The 26-year-old QB and his partner in crime, Saquon Barkley, has been a force on the field. The QB has recorded nearly 3,000 passing yards and racked up 18 touchdowns. However, the Hurts has been dealing with his shares of injury this season.

How can we forget the last week’s divisional round when he hurt his knee against the Rams? But the silver line is that he returned to the field after a few minutes and is ready to start in one of the most anticipated showdowns of the season.
