The “Power of Friendship” mantra has been the most important chapter of the playbook for the Chiefs’ dominance under Andy Reid. Yeah, you know we are talking about the Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes bromance. And with 11-1, the playoff’s ticket punched, it’s clearly still working…or maybe not! Pat-Trav’s duo is hitting an unusual rough patch and the #87 is not liking it at all.

For a pair that usually finishes each other’s sentences (and routes), it’s a bit jarring to see them out of sync. So, about time, Travis Kelce didn’t sugarcoat his frustrations on the latest New Heights podcast. “Right now, for whatever reason, I can’t find my way in the end zone,” Kelce admitted. “I’m just not on the same page as Pat. It’s f—–g frustrating, that’s for damn sure.”

That’s not just venting—it’s a red-zone warning signal from one of the NFL’s most reliable tight ends. I mean, he has gotten used to feasting on touchdowns, served on the platter by his #15. So, having them in less supply, it’s like showing up to a barbecue and finding out there’s no brisket.

So, what’s the deal? Is it defenses finally figuring out the Kelce-Mahomes magic? Or just a mid-season hiccup for the league’s best bromance? Either way, Chiefs Kingdom is hoping this connection gets back in rhythm before playoff time.

I mean, yes, Kelce’s numbers have dropped. He had 5 in the last season, and now with just 6 games to go he only has 2. (Here’s a little something: He has not finished a season with less than 4 TDs in his career so far. WOW!) So, there’s a drop there for sure. And yes, it could be down to the tactical tweak by Coach Reid. But you don’t expect a winning team without acclimatizing to the modern-day game, do you?

However, we can see Travis’s concerns. He ended the Raiders game with 7 recs for a total of 68 yards. But his drought of TDs continued as it was 3rd game in-a-row where he did not get to hit his end zone celly. But the thing is, Coach Reid is not worried about it. Not even one bit.

Andy Reid trusts his seasoned vet, Travis Kelce!

During the Chiefs’ nail-biting 19-17 win over the Raiders, Kelce pulled off another wild lateral, flipping the ball to Samaje Perine after a quick pass from Patrick Mahomes. If you’re keeping score, this isn’t Kelce’s first time pulling a stunt like this. And apparently, it’s not just game-day chaos—it’s a regular thing in practice.

What’s your perspective on:

Is the Mahomes-Kelce duo losing its magic, or is this just a temporary glitch?

Have an interesting take?

We do it every day,” Reid said. “It’s fine as long as they complete it.” Translation: just don’t mess it up. Kelce’s lateral to Perine wasn’t just for show—it helped secure a crucial first down late in the second quarter.

Perine, clearly ready for the chaos, admitted after the game, “It was not scripted, I can tell you that much… I was just ready for it.” And let’s be honest, when Kelce starts winding up for one of these laterals, everyone’s holding their breath—Reid included. But when it works? That’s talked about for days.

Remember when he pulled a similar move against the Saints earlier this season? It’s risky, sure, but you know, we are witnessing Reid playing Reid the best. Trusting his seasoned vet, through thick and thin. And this season is certainly the 35-year-old’s thinnest. But that’s the thing with KC right now, and it’s scary.

None of it are playing at their best (well, barring a few who have been consistent). Despite that, they are through to the postseason football. So, will the January Kansas turn every gridiron they touch into red and gold? Or this is where their 3-peat charge ends? Let us know.
