Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons will definitely not be on the NFL referees’ nice list. After the Cowboys’ heartbreaking two-point loss to the Miami Dolphins in a much-anticipated Christmas Eve game, he called out the officials on his social media. Now, all that remains to be seen is whether he will also draw hefty fines from the NFL as Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs did for their comments against the officials.

With the Miami loss, the Cowboys also lent credibility to the contention that “the team cannot win against tough teams.” Will they be able to bounce back after this loss?

Taking to Instagram, Micah Parsons shared a picture of him in the thick of the game. Two Dolphins offensive players were holding him, one grabbing his chest while the other was grabbing his facemask. QB Tua Tagovailoa can be seen in the foreground preparing to throw the ball. The post was captioned, “Free me dawg!!! whatever I did to the officials I’m sorry!” What was the linebacker taking a dig at?

In the 20-22 loss, the refs called out Parsons for roughing the passer when he tried to sack Tagovailoa. With that, his 36-quarter run with no penalties came to a halt. The Dolphins’ offense had held Parsons several times during the game, but the officials seemingly paid no heed to their offenses, which angered him and the Dallas fans.

The refs awarded the Dolphins a new set of downs, and this was especially tough on Dallas because they were already in the end zone. This was a significant factor that helped the Dolphins clinch victory.

Much-anticipated game goes into Miami’s hands

The game was much anticipated even before the season had started. Micah Parsons and Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill are known rivals, and they had trash-talked each other ahead of the game. It seems that Tyreek had the last laugh after he defeated Parsons. Parsons recorded two solo and five assisted tackles, but the defeat will still be a bitter pill for him to swallow.

After the first quarter, Dallas led with four points but went scoreless in the next quarter. The Dolphins scored a touchdown and a field goal and overtook the Cowboys till the clock ran up. With the loss, the Cowboys have fallen to the second position in the NFC East division and have clinched a Wild Card playoff appearance. But they will have to face more formidable teams once they are in the playoffs. Can they manage to win against them as well?
