Erin Andrews is used to the pressure of covering the Super Bowl. But this year, staying healthy was just as stressful as the game itself. With millions watching and a packed schedule leading up to Sunday, she was determined not to get sick. And according to her podcast Calm Down with Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson, she went all in on preventing even the slightest sniffle.

By midweek, Andrews was already spiraling over a tickle in her throat. “I felt like I was back to 10 feet apart,” she said, explaining how she avoided people like it was 2020 all over again. With team members getting sick around her, she wasn’t taking any chances. “I think I’m going to get sick,” she told someone with the Eagles, who immediately set her up with an IV. Between that, taking tons of supplements, and resting as much as possible, she did everything she could to keep herself game-day ready.

Her co-host Charissa Thompson had plenty of fun teasing her: “What’s so much fun is when your best friend is a hypochondriac and she is working the Super Bowl in front of 126 million viewers.” But Erin owned her paranoia. She avoided socializing, stocked up on skincare products for stress breakouts, and even had emergency acne meds on hand. “I also had a man spa over and ready if I had anything acting up for a cortisone shot,” she admitted. Laughing at how far she took it.

In the end, all the precautions worked—she made it through Super Bowl Sunday without a hitch. Charissa summed it up perfectly: “It all worked out.” And while Erin might’ve gone a little overboard, when you’re on TV in front of millions, can you really blame her?

Erin Andrews spills on her ‘eye’ struggles

Erin Andrews just kept it real about something she’s been dealing with—dry eye disease. In an interview with Athletech News, she admitted she had no clue what was going on at first. “I just thought it was my eyes being tired,” she said. “I thought maybe it was just because I’m looking at my screen so much—my eyes always kind of feel a little scratchy, gritty.” Turns out, it wasn’t just screen fatigue—it was dry eye, something that affects 38 million people. Big yikes.

Once she got diagnosed, she found prescription drops that actually helped. And now she’s telling people to stop ignoring their eye issues. “Like [if you are] constantly rubbing your eyes or blinking or thinking, ‘Oh, my eyes feel super dry or scratchy’—go ask somebody about it because there’s actually something that can relieve your symptoms,” she said. Given how much time she spends under bright lights and glued to screens. It makes so much sense that she had to get it under control.

But of course, Erin didn’t let it slow her down. She still crushed her Super Bowl coverage alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady, because, she’s a pro. Dry eye? Could never. She powered through and did her thing like the absolute legend she is.
