The Philadelphia Eagles believe in revenge! Let us go back to Feb. 6, 2005. They lost Super Bowl XXXIX to the Patriots, but when on Feb. 4, 2018, they found themselves facing the same team once again, they made the most of that opportunity and walked away with their first Super Bowl win. Similarly, 2023 witnessed ‘The Iggles’ lose the big game against the Chiefs; The green team desperately wanted a win before their veterans could leave the sport and they almost had it until they blew a 10-point lead. Ultimately, a 35-38 loss pushed the team to ruminate about missed opportunities and glory, and for their fans, it became a memory they would rather skip over while doom-scrolling on social media.
They hoped to be back, fully aware that second chances rarely happen in sports. But yet again, when they got another chance to take revenge, this time against the Chiefs at LIX, they knew they couldn’t let it slip through. They absolutely dominated and destroyed the Chiefs, 40-22.
While the Chiefs wanted to make history as the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three consecutive championships, solidifying Patrick Mahomes‘s legacy and giving head coach Andy Reid a victory over his former team, the Eagles had vengeance on their minds and Fox’s Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson stood for that too!

Erin Andrews was losing it. And honestly, who could blame her? The Super Bowl was over, confetti was flying, and the Eagles finally got their redemption after that brutal loss to the Chiefs two years ago. If you saw her on the field, you’d think she was an honorary member of the team—grinning ear to ear, absolutely vibing in the moment.
And then, there was Charissa Thompson. The two best friends and Calm Down Podcast co-hosts found each other in the madness and immediately threw their arms around each other in a celebratory hug. Andrews later posted the moment on her Instagram story with the caption, “I can’t calm down!!!” Yeah, no kidding. At that point, you almost had to wonder—was she just caught up in the excitement, or was she secretly hoping for the Eagles to win all along?
Quite possible. After all, days before the Super Bowl, she talked about how she covered the team throughout the season. “I have covered the Eagles all year and I got to see how they turned it around after the bye week and Vic Fangio‘s top-rated defense and then you’ve got Saquon Barkley, which I think is one of the best stories in the NFL, got to a sit-down interview with him this week and he said that this is like a movie, it doesn’t seem real.”
On the other hand, fans have already been buzzing about the two hosts since the start! When Charissa Thompson strolled into the stadium to cover the pre-game buzz, she was instantly swarmed by reporters, curious about her Super Bowl tradition with Erin Andrews. With a smile, Thompson revealed their tradition: “I stand there and I watch her do her first hit and then we just sort of you know have that very proud moment that we’ve been lucky enough to do this job but get to do it together and with everybody that we work with.”

Touched by Thompson’s sweet words about their Super Bowl ritual, Andrews gave a shout-out on her Instagram story with a “Love you baby girl!” These two have been owning the sports journalism game for ages—Erin Andrews since 2000 and Charissa Thompson since 2007. What started as a bit of friendly rivalry turned into a major girl-power friendship, and now they’re unstoppable! They sealed the deal in 2021 with their joint podcast, ‘Calm Down’.
While the Eagles celebrated their hard-fought victory, fans can only wonder if more insights on this will be shared on the ‘Calm Down’ podcast! For now, it’s hard to tell. Meanwhile, there was more Super Bowl drama that unfolded at the trophy presentation! What else happened?
Super Bowl LIX takes a dramatic turn in the end! Thanks to Terry Bradshaw…
The Vince Lombardi Trophy presentation, typically the crowning moment of celebration for winning players and coaches and a cherished experience for millions of viewers, took an unfortunate turn at Super Bowl LIX. The presentation devolved into a complete mess!
The decision to have Terry Bradshaw host the event was questionable, particularly given his previous apology for insensitive comments made about Andy Reid in 2023. Bradshaw’s performance appeared unprepared and technical issues plagued the broadcast. Here’s what happened!

The broadcast cameras had shifted to Commissioner Roger Goodell, who was at the podium. However, the audio remained with the studio crew, which resulted in the hot mic picking up an argument and people couldn’t hear Goodell. So later, when Goodell handed the trophy to Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie, Terry Bradshaw came up to interview him. And in an awkward exchange, he stated, “I’m not gonna turn loose of this mic,” after Lurie attempted to grab it. But things don’t end here!
His brief acknowledgment of Jalen Hurts as Super Bowl MVP felt inadequate. Bradshaw’s quick mention of the honor, coupled with the absence of a formal trophy presentation, left many feeling that Hurts’ big moment was diminished. The QB, still just 26, had a historic performance, completing 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards, throwing touchdowns to DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, rushing for a quarterback Super Bowl record 72 yards, and scoring his 10th career postseason rushing touchdown. His passer rating for the game was 119.7 (13highest in Super Bowl history).

The lack of fanfare and delayed on-screen graphics further contributed to the impression that Fox was caught off guard by the announcement.

The presentation was abruptly cut short, concluding after just four minutes and eliciting widespread frustration among NFL fans. The broadcast also suffered from production issues, including a widely disliked score bug and a Bourbon Street-like backdrop that felt empty and sterile.
