You know all those moments when you’re trying to live your best life after a hectic work schedule, enjoying ‘me time’ with your favorite food? And then boom, something goes terribly wrong and now your best day turns into the worst nightmare. Enter Erin Andrews who not a long while ago ended up in a situation that had her worrying about her health in a pretty big way.

In easy words, what started as a simple lunch break for Erin turned into a full-blown health scare that she couldn’t brush off with a laugh. So what exactly happened, you’re wondering? Andrews, who wanted to soak some vitamin D and unwind, decided to grab a bowl at her favorite burrito spot. Being her favorite place, guess she had a pretty good feeling about it. But something was off.

“And then I start looking down at my bowl and it looks the turkey meat is little pink,” she confessed to Charissa Thompson. As it seemed she was all lost in her bowl, she lost track of time for how long she was eating it. “So then I am like, how long I have been eating at this? How long have I been eating this?”

Given her track history with her health concerns in the past, Andrews instantly started googling the symptoms of food poisoning. “And when I looked it up, food poisoning symptoms usually occur 5 to 6 hours. So that was about 11:30 and I am starting to burp a little bit,” she further recalled during her conversation with Charissa on Calm Down With Erin and Charissa.

Still, she wasn’t sure if she was dealing with food poisoning, the dreaded norovirus which she learned through social media. Talk about rubbing salt on the wound.

Erin Andrews’ health concerns and health-conscious lifestyle

It was not quite long before Andrews announced that she was battling cervical cancer. In January 2017, she broke the news concerns that she had been diagnosed with cancer in September 2016. Luckily, after a couple of surgeries, the sportscaster was cancer-free. Ever since then, Erin has transformed her lifestyle into a health-conscious one.

She became more serious about her health than ever and started managing her diet with supplements like multivitamins, Vitamin D, and probiotics. One of the reasons why she went to have a bowl and sat outside of her favorite burrito place. “As long as I’m smart with what I eat, keeping up with my workouts, and not having a burger for lunch every single day, I’m okay,” she said.
