Since 2012, Erin Andrews has been the face of FOX for the NFL and has become the lead sideline reporter for the network’s broadcasting team for the league. Andrews has put in a lot of hard work to reach where she is and today covers the biggest sporting events and continues to grow outside her role as lead sideline reporter. Achieving this, though, wasn’t easy, especially for Andrews for whom communication “in general is horrible.” Who would have thought?

On the 9th Jan episode of her podcast, CALM DOWN, Andrews discussed many things and even talked about why she got married and had a baby so late. The FOX sportscaster revealed how she had to put her career first and work very hard in a ‘male-dominated industry’, “Hence why I got married so late, hence why I had a baby so late, I really put my career first,” she said.

Andrew and her now husband, Jarret Stoll, met each other in 2012 during the World Series and tied the knot 5 years later. Stoll played for the LA Kings and is a retired hockey player who has won two Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings. Andrew and Stoll became parents to their baby boy Mack in June 2023.

When one watches Andrews today, she comes across as someone very comfortable, confident, and open when working with any athletes or viewers. This, though, wasn’t the case before, and only when she started with FOX did she start to open up more. “I think when I went to Fox, I really was able to… show who I was, I remember somebody telling me, like, ‘We want to see you smile and having fun with the players. We want your personality to come out.’”

Andrews found her voice when she joined FOX. She connected with the viewers in a way she had never had before. She became the voice of the fans and, with her love for sports, her quick wit, and her humble persona, Andrews was able to garner a substantial fan following. This even helped her in starting her clothing line WEAR by Erin Andrews.

What changed for Erin Andrews after she became a Mom?

Andrews has been working professionally for more than a decade now and is currently involved in more projects than she ever was. So how does she manage all of this and her personal life? Well, Andrews is doing phenomenally well with that. However, she does have a newfound respect for working mothers now. The NFL sportscaster believed that the baby would eventually become a part of her existing life and that she would not have to make many changes. Well, she now realizes she was wrong.

Speaking with PEOPLE, she admitted, “I didn’t think I would have much guilt. I went into this pretty naive.” She further clarified, “I thought, ‘I’ve had this career my whole life; I’ll be fine. I travel, that’s just kind of part of my life.’ But I started feeling guilty when I was away.” Erin also talked about how she is obsessed with the baby monitor and, as soon as she is away from her son, all she wants to do is check on him.

Andrews realizes she won’t be able to go on with the same schedule forever, but till she continues she will only go at a 10, “It also doesn’t last forever, and I’m very well aware of that,” she says. “Unfortunately for me, I don’t know any other gear besides ten. Maybe nine and a half.”

With the NFL post-season set to begin, Andrews will get into the busiest part of the year, and with Tom Brady being a part of the broadcasting crew, it is bound to be double crazy this year.
