Charissa Thompson’s love life hasn’t exactly been a highlight reel lately. Sure, she’s smiling now with her new man, but let’s just say the road to “better days” had some brutal potholes. One minute, she’s all smiles on set, next, she’s in the group chat like, “Okay, plot twist!” You know that kind of heartbreak where you’re holding it together… until you’re not? And yep, that brings us here.
The FOX reporter has been open about her dating life lately, especially with her best friend and co-host, Erin Andrews. And if you’re guessing that she just talked about one of the rocky chapters of life, then you’re right. On her latest episode of the Calm Down Podcast with Andrews, Charissa spilled the tea about that time when her ex-boyfriend cheated on her while on a trip with him in Hawaii.
Please stick with us, because this anecdote has a special guest: actress and singer Kate Hudson. “So I found out my ex-boyfriend cheated on me,” she explained. “We were in Hawaii. I intercepted a text message that was from his girlfriend that he had in conjunction with me.” At one point or another, that indeed sounds relatable, doesn’t it?

Picture this: you’re in Hawaii with your man, soaking up the sun—then, bam, a text from his other girl changes everything. Yeah… suddenly, that ocean breeze feels more like emotional whiplash. That’s exactly what happened with Charissa, which forced her to pack her bags and fly from Hawaii. Spoiler alert: She had an interview scheduled with Kate Hudson.
“I flew back from Hawaii. I had to go straight to a junket, drop the bags, find out my life is not what I thought it was, and I am going to interview Kate Hudson,” she continued. And that’s where things took a sudden turn. Charissa Thompson, fresh off a setback. She’s meeting Kate Hudson for the first time. And what did Hudson ask her? “She looks at me, mind you, never having met her, she goes, ‘Are you okay?'”
That’s when she hit pause on the whole interview vibe and just let it all out—full-on breakup bomb, no filter. “And I go, ‘Nope. I just found out my boyfriend cheated on me. I had to fly back from Hawaii. I also knew he had an engagement ring because my mom told me that. And so now I’m sitting here.'” And just like y’all, Erin Andrews was also in total shock. The kicker?
Well, Kate Hudson asked Charissa to give her a call back and after wrapping up the interview, they’d talk about that whole matter. Yeah, just like that. “She said this, Erin, ‘give me your phone.’ I go, ‘what?’ I hand it to her,” Charissa continued. “She puts her phone number in and said, ‘You call me, and we’re going to go get a drink and talk about this.’ I like, started to tear up, and she goes, ‘uh-uh, let’s do this interview and we’ll talk after.'” Kate Hudson to the rescue, folks.

She doesn’t want to go down that road. Not again. During a conversation on the Calm Down podcast with Erin Andrews, Charissa brushed off the idea of getting married. When Erin jokingly suggested that Thompson and Cundari could throw a surprise wedding at their ranch, Charissa straight-up replied, “No, knock it off.”
She wasn’t joking, folks. In fact, she even discussed this thing with Cundari. “I am never getting married again. We have already talked about it. We have already gone through all the reasons why,” she said. Not the kind of plans Andrews was hoping for, right? But at the end of the day, it’s safe to say that Charissa Thompson is just celebrating her love with Steven Cundari and doesn’t see the need for a wedding.
