Okay, let’s just say it—Saquon Barkley is him. The Eagles finally snapped their playoff drought with a Wild Card win, and guess who stole the show? Yup, Saquon. It’s been a long road since 2018, but with Saquon leading the way, Philly is finally on the way to the playoffs. And, of course, when Erin Andrews caught up with him post-game, he had something to say about his last-minute crucial crucial play.

When just one minute was left in the game, and the Packers were running out of timeouts, Barkley slid for 17 yards instead of taking the carry to the house. That’s when his teammates started calling him their savior. When Andrews asked him about his decision-making play, he said, “They told me I probably should have taken a little bit more. But at the end of the day, the most important thing in playoffs is winning and advancing. No matter how it looks, there are some things we can work on, we can improve on.”

In the game when the Eagles just recorded 121 passing yards against the Packers, Barkley’s remarkable performance turned out to be vital in the team’s win. And when the Fox reporter asked, “Saquon, when did you know, I mean, in this defensive physical battle that yards were gonna be really hard to come by?” The veteran running back responded on how eager the team was to win.

“I mean, in the beginning of the week, it’s playoff football like that seems really well,” Barkley stated. “Coach and they got a lot of great players. So we know it wasn’t gonna be easy. But like I said, at the end of the day, no matter how it looks, you just want to win.” The passing yards were hard to get for the Eagles but as the RB said, the team has a lot of great players in the roster. And one of them is newcomer Barkley himself.

Saquon rushed for 119 yards for 25 carries with 4.5 carries per yard. Though he didn’t find the end zone throughout the game, his 100-yard outing and last-minute sliding for 17 yards turned the game in the Eagle’s favor. As the Philadelphia team is now in the divisional round, Barkley had few words when Erin Andrews asked how he feels about next week’s game.

“A year ago, I put on a tweet when I was on my couch watching playoff football and that I gotta find a way to get back in. So, I’m just happy to be here and shout to my teammates. And most importantly, we move on and we get another home game. So that’s big.” Well, as it turns out, his last year’s tweet is now his reality. However, Saquon Barkley and the Eagles have to wait to find out their opponent to play in the next round.
