Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. And why shouldn’t he? After all, the Colorado captain threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns last season, setting the franchise’s single-season record. He even won the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. But wait, it seems all these are not enough to make him the top quarterback prospect for the Tennessee Titans. Why? Well, what happened last week, perhaps changed their decision.
On April 4, reporter John Frascella dropped a video of Shedeur Sanders’s pre-NFL draft workout. Sharing the same, he flagged the QB’s mechanics, saying, “Lot of double-taps and hitches from Shedeur today, NFL defenders close windows quickly, this was a concerning workout.” Hence, it seems the Titans have changed their mind. According to the reports, they have confirmed that they canceled the scheduled visit from the Buffaloes. But 14-year NFL veteran Chase Daniel came up to defend the 23-year-old.
Reposting the same video and remarks from Frascella on X, Chase Daniel wrote, “This is such a ridiculous conversation….it won’t matter. The pat is for timing and rhythm.” The veteran argued that pat is a common technique for timing and rhythm in quarterback play. Hence, to judge Shedeur Sanders on that basis is a worthless conversation, per Daniel. And guess what? This isn’t the first time the 38-year-old has said something good about the QB.

About 5 days ago, Daniel once again shared a video of Shedeur Sanders from his game days. He analyzed the QB’s game, and shared on X, calling it a “Pro Level Stuff”: “Shedeur Sanders is excellent in the pocket when he’s protected. Next level movement in the pocket to buy time & affect defenders with his eyes.” No doubt, Sanders is a great young quarterback who has a bright future in the NFL.
But the strange part is: in January, Chase Daniel was the one who asked the teams to trade for Cam Ward first and not Shedeur Sanders. During that month’s Scoop City episode, the former quarterback said, “I don’t think any quarterback in this draft is worth trading up toward.” Hence, as per him, if any team wants to draft a QB at first, they should go with Cam Ward and not Sanders. He thinks it’s wise to take the best player early and wait. When you hit those middle rounds, then you might find the right QB for your team. That’s because Daniel believes this year’s QB prospects are not as amazing as other positions for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Nevertheless, now that he might change up his mind for Shedeur Sanders, for Titans, who have the first pick, is perhaps ready to go with Ward. So, what if the Titans pick Cam Ward and leave Colorado QB?
What’s your perspective on:
Is Shedeur Sanders the real deal, or is Cam Ward the better choice for the Titans?
Have an interesting take?
Shedeur Sanders has his priority clear!
Shedeur Sanders has his own competition with Cam Ward, as the two are seen as great QB prospects of the year. But as many analysts pointed out, Ward’s accuracy on deep balls is better than the Colorado star. Hence, he is considered as top favorite in the draft.
Nevertheless, some believe that if not Titans, then the Browns might come up as the savior for Sanders. It’s because they have also shown interest in him earlier on multiple occasions. So, is Sanders okay with his potential career in Northeast Ohio? Well, he doesn’t mind at all, because for him, what matters is his performance.

During a recent presser, Sheduer Sanders said it loud and clear: “I could bring cameras and eyes anywhere I go. It doesn’t matter where I go. I know the influence I have on society and on culture. So wherever I go, it’s definitely going to be an improvement over what it was before I got there.”

So, yes, as per the QB, he is excited to be at any place, and he is confident enough to turn the tables wherever he goes. That’s like a confident quarterback!
