The Russell Wilson vs Jayden Daniels game was too close. Phew! The Washington Commanders were listed as favorites ahead of the game, but here we are. The 28-27 Steelers win has pushed the Pittsburgh team to the top of the AFC North Mountain. Not even the Ravens can touch them right now. With this win, Mike Tomlin’s decision to make Wilson QB1 stays unrefuted.
This game brought forth a couple of interesting storylines. For one, Russell Wilson was reunited with his long-lost teammate. And second, the 9x Pro Bowler has earned the trust of a Pittsburgh Steelers legend. Any guess who these people are?
Russ met up with his former Seattle Seahawks teammate and the Legion of Boom member, Bobby Wagner, and they swapped jerseys with each other. The Commanders LB and the Steelers quarterback were courteous enough to write heartfelt messages on each other’s jerseys. Russ uploaded a picture of the jerseys on his IG after the game.

“Forever Legendary. Forever Brothers. @Bwagz I love you for life bro! They gave us an F Grade in 2012… But we still here doing it!!! “Don’t get bored with consistency!” God gets ALL the Glory!” Wilson’s IG post said. What do the messages say? Unfortunately, it’s hard to make out what it says at the back of Bobby Wagner’s jersey. But here’s what Russell Wilson wrote on his hersey for the Commanders LB.
“Love you for life bro! Keep being a legendary king! Don’t get bored with consistency,” Wilson wrote on his Steelers jersey and signed it at the bottom. Even Ciara felt compelled to comment on the photo, writing, “Legendary!!” It’s salient to note that Wilson and Wagner played in Super Bowl XLVIII and beat Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos in a 43-8 game. But let’s check out what happened in this game against the Commanders.

Did Russell Wilson just prove Terry Bradshaw wrong, or is this just a lucky streak?

The game was a nail-biter from the get-go. Russell Wilson had an early start, but the Washington Commanders weren’t interested in staying behind. The game tied in the first quarter, and then the Commanders took a 17-14 lead by the end of the second quarter. Later, Jeremy McNichols started the third quarter with a 1-yard TD run, extending the lead to 24-14.
Then, Najee Harris had his own 1-yard TD score and brought down the lead to a mere 3 points (24-21). Zane Gonzalez, the Commanders kicker made a 41-yard FG, and the Commanders were up by a 6-point lead (27-21). This marked the end of the third quarter.
Russell Wilson knew that he needed one more touchdown to seal the game. With just 2:22 remaining in the fourth quarter, Wilson threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams, whom the New York Jets recently traded. The game-winning touchdown brought the Steelers a 1-point lead as they won 28-27. Russell Wilson went 14 of 28 over 195 yards. However, he scored 3 touchdowns but also threw an interception.
So, with all this, the Steelers are up 7-2 and this game has convinced the Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw that Russell Wilson is the right man for the Steelers starting job.
Steelers legend backpedals from his Russell Wilson comments
Around 18 October, Bradshaw threw shade on Russell Wilson saying Justin Fields was the “right person” to lead the Steelers. With Fields at the core, the Steelers were up by 4-2, and then, Tomlin made a controversial decision to bench the former Bears QB. Even though Russell Wilson won the first two games he started, it wasn’t enough to convince Terry Bradshaw that he was talented enough to lead the Pittsburgh franchise.

Well, all that changed today when the former Steelers QB publicly apologized for misconstruing Russell Wilson. Bradshaw, who is a FOX analyst now, admitted that he was wrong about Russell Wilson ahead of the game against the Commanders.
“This is a tough game for Pittsburgh,” Bradshaw said on FOX when looking ahead to Sunday’s game. “I’m going to go ahead and say Russell (Wilson), who has really kind of won me over to his side, I didn’t think he’d be their quarterback, two touchdowns. Two touchdown passes for him today, and the Steelers win in an upset.”

Well, Wilson threw more than two touchdowns, and safe to say, there might not be any friction between the two as we move forward, waiting for the week 11 game against the divisional rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. The football game is going to be good, old, and hard-nosed.
