Is Brady's locker room knock a sign of respect or desperation for relevance?

Tom Brady made headlines for his contract with Fox. A 10-year, $375 million deal. The biggest deal for any sports commentator. But what bamboozled everyone was the restrictions that were put on the GOAT for his new role. Despite those, he is continuing his job and even broke a personal code of conduct today.

During the broadcast of the week 7 game between the Chiefs and the 49ers, Brady revealed an interesting story. TB12 said that he never knocked on any locker room for an interview. However, 20 hours before the game, he went to the Chiefs’ locker room and knocked on it. For what, though? An interview with Patrick Mahomes.

The interview aired on Fox Sports, just a few hours ago before the week 7 revenge game between the Chiefs vs 49ers. However, the Chiefdom went down memory lane after watching both stars talking to each other. Though it was officially an interview, it looked more like an informal talk between both legends.

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes talked about everything, from Super Bowls to families to working out. It was a treat. When the GOAT asked the Grim Reaper about their first meeting post-AFC Championship game in 2018, which later won, Mahomes’ reply was outstanding. He praised TB12 for coming up to him and praising him. The Chiefs QB even claimed that those words inspired him to work hard.

However, the legend’s honest admission of knocking on the locker room can put him in trouble. One of the restrictions was that he would not visit the other team’s facilities.

Will Tom Brady’s violation of the code of conduct invite any action?

On the 15th of October 2024, the NFL owners voted in TB12’s favor, which made him a part owner of the Raiders with a 5% stake in the franchise. But everyone still had questions about one thing. How can he still call the matches? Is he following the restrictions?

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was optimistic about the legend following the restrictions. While talking to the reporters after the team owners meeting, the NFL supremo talked about Brady and said, “Tom’s been abiding by the issues that we’ve raised in the committee voluntarily since he began broadcasting, so that’s all been resolved.” His today’s admission changes that.

While Tom Brady is receiving mixed reviewed for his play calling, the league officials might be forced to take notice. It can also put his NFL ownership in danger. The officials who set the restrictions in the first place might have to check the fines or any penalties. The GOAT is enjoying his success off the field. He is now among the rarest of rare NFL athletes who also own a team. We, he was always special!
