It might take another Super Bowl win for the Chiefs to get over this year’s loss. But it will take years for the Giants to move on from the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory. And no, it’s not just because they are divisional rivals. It’s because Philly did it with their former player. Yes, you’re thinking right. We’re talking about Saquon Barkley. The same Saquon who just became a Super Bowl champion and snagged Offensive Player of the Year. And gifted himself a Lombardi Trophy on his birthday. Philly must thank Howie Roseman for bringing Barkley to them.
Remember when John Mara told Joe Schoen, “I’m going to have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia?” Now, after the win, he must be having nightmares every night, regretting the very day Barkley signed with the Eagles. Joe Schoen should take notes from Howie Roseman on how it’s done. And Rich Eisen would agree. Eisen wants the Philly GM to show the NFL what it’s like to do your job. “So you think again somebody should go to Howie Roseman, somebody from NFL Films and Mount Laurel should take a visit after the parade. It’s all dying down now. Hey Howie, we want you to show everybody what it’s like to do your job.”

Enter Tom Pelissero, the NFL Network reporter who dropped by The Rich Eisen Show, to stir the pot a little. Tom and Eisen talked about whether Philly should go for the next off-season edition of Hard Knocks. Now, die-hard football fans must know that it’s a reality sports documentary where you can catch your favorite NFL teams through training camp and offseason prep. Philly going for it would mean hell for the Giants. You can imagine the drama, Howie Roseman’s mastermind moves to secure Barkley, the RB winning his first Super Bowl, and his redemption arc in Philly.

But before you start grabbing your popcorn and settling in for some piping hot Hard Knocks drama, Tom Pelissero hit us with a reality check. He spilled some cold water on the idea, reflecting on why the show might not thrive like it used to.
Here is why Philly might not show you Howie Roseman’s smart moves
The Eagles are in a perfect position to rub salt in John Mara and the Giants‘ wounds. But the Giants letting go of Saquon Barkley was so bad that the show itself might get canceled. Yes, you read that right. The entire point of Hard Knocks is to serve the fans with NFL insights that make them ask for more of it. And that’s only possible when the teams agree to show the behind-the-scenes processes. The Giants did it when they entertained the entire world by showing the behind-the-scenes of their free agency. John Mara and the team did not offer a ‘fair’ deal to Barkley.

Moreover, they threw $40 million at Daniel Jones only to fire him in the mid-season. So now, teams are probably looking at the Giants’ mess and thinking, ‘Nope, not worth it.‘ Why risk exposing your blunders when you can just keep everything under wraps? And without teams willing to play ball, Hard Knocks is left scrambling for content. “It’s the teams that have curtailed some of the access and some of the insight to the point that, yeah, there are times where you can tell they’re just not going to allow anything on camera,” said Pelissero.
Giants reporter Tom Rock also dropped a bombshell, revealing that the offseason edition of Hard Knocks might be on thin ice for 2025. It looks like the Giants’ front office not only wrote the script for their downfall. They might take Hard Knocks down with them.
