The Colorado Buffaloes‘ QB Shedeur Sanders completed his Pro day on a high note. But something is making him restless. He revealed the reason in his recent conversation with NFL reporters. From workouts to QB qualities and draft picks to showing strength of character through words, Shedeur is making something clear for the Titans and all teams with top picks.

Shedeur Sanders was on ESPN right after his Pro Day session. The reporter couldn’t hold back the most important question before the NFL drafts 2025 opens up. When asked about what he thinks about which team would pick him up – as 1st pick or as 6th pick- as Sanders shot a fiery message at NFL teams who have the top picks. Shedeur started, “All I need is opportunity. Simple. Whatever franchise wants to change the franchise, there’s no doubt who to go with.” He continued his hot take.

“I’ve done it over and over and over. So you’ll be a fool not to pick me,” said the Colorado Buffaloes QB. But before getting into it, let’s check out what else he said. The situation was tense, and instead of answering further questions, he asked the reporter, “Let me ask you a question. What’s the most important trait of a quarterback?” The ESPN reporter rightly said, “…decision-making and accuracy? Winning?” But Shedeur cut him off and emphasised what answer he wanted to hear- “Consistency.” And indirectly pointed a message to the top pick teams,Look at the last four years.”

And if we look at his four years, Shedeur is definitely not lying in terms of consistency. Whether it’s Jackson State Tigers or the Colorado Buffaloes, Shedeur landed 134 touchdowns, for a total of 14.323 yards with an average completion rate not skidding below 65.9%. Last year, Deion Sanders’ son gave his best shot by landing 37 TDs with a massive 74% completion rate. And that’s why when Shedeur says, “You’ll be a fool not to pick me”, it reminds me of the Buffalo Bills not picking up Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 NFL draft and allowing the Kansas City Chiefs to swoop in. We are not disparaging Josh Allen‘s ability, but the Bills know what they lost in that draft. And it’s haunted them ever since.

Shedeur has a similar story. The 23-year-old, 6’1” QB is focused. He’s fired up after learning he might fall to the sixth or even tenth pick because most top draft teams prefer other options. That’s where Shedeur’s ego hits at the right time. There is enough history in the NFL that teams often make unusual or out-of-the-box decisions and end up regretting them in the corner.

But do you know why Sanders was speaking with such aggression and agony when reporters asked him about the Draft? The answer lies in Colorado’s Pro Day itself.

Shedeur’s agony increased after the Titans didn’t invite Sanders

The Colorado Buffaloes Pro Day on Thursday saw many teams visit with a big crew to witness Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. Though it went great for both players, NFL reporter Todd McShay revealed a different angle to the story. He posted on X, writing, “So the @Titans have respectfully cancelled private workouts with Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, making it all but official they will take Cam Ward No. 1. And now… I’m starting to hear more and more about Hunter to Cleveland at No. 2, which would mean Abdul Carter vs. Shedeur for the Giants at No. 3.” After the Miami Pro day, the Titans invited Cam Ward for a private workout at their facility.

And if we look at Shedeur not getting such an invitation, it solidifies the popular notion that the Titans will be picking up Cam Ward first up in the 2025 NFL Draft. Ward is also interested but keeping his cards close to his chest. On March 25, when reporters questioned him about his interactions with Brian Callahan and Titans officials after Pro Day, he simply responded, “See you next month.”

Cam Ward recalled his interaction and told the NFL reporters, “I’m solidifying it today. They finally got to see me throw in person… That should be all they need to see… But at the end of the day, I’m going to be happy with whatever team I go to… I’m just trying to play football.” And while the Titans are solidifying their 1st pick as Ward, the Cleveland Browns are also interested in CB-WR Jackpot Travis Hunter

So, with the third overall pick, the New York Giants now have two choices – Abdul Carter or Shedeur Sanders? The Giants are also desperate for a long-term QB. But could their signings of Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson this offseason mean they’ll hope to draft one next year? In that case, will the Raiders bag Shedeur with the No. 6 Pick? Lots of questions. Answers coming your way on April 24!
