“Talk about Deez nuts,” is what Trevon Diggs said to a reporter after the 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Sunday Night Football game at Levi’s Stadium. But he wasn’t the only player to call out the media tonight. Turns out, the winners of the game also have qualms with the media.

Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated thought he was doing public service when he took to X and announced that the 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward was being benched. But to Ward, this information couldn’t have been further from the truth. Check out what transpired between the SI journalist and the 49ers cornerback.

Grant Cohn took to X and posted, The 49ers just benched Charvarius Ward.” That fired Ward enough to take shots at Cohn when he re-shared his post. As a reply, Ward noted, “I’ll never get benched lame a—dude.”

We don’t exactly know when the apparent “benching” of the 49ers CB happened. However, Ward came out with 5 solo tackles and 7 total tackles in the game. Also, the 49ers defense recorded 58 total tackles, 2 sacks, three tackles for losses, and 4 defended passes against the Dallas Cowboys.

This game helped the 49ers wipe the bitter taste from their mouths after a 28-18 defeat from the Kansas City Chiefs last week. However, there were some concerning injuries that the Niners had to deal with post the Cowboys win.

The running back, Jordan Mason, aggravated his shoulder injury once again and linebacker Dee Winters left the game in the second half with a concussion. But while the 49ers rejoice the win, the Cowboys are obviously not happy about the loss. That was apparent from Trevon Diggs’ demeanor after the game.

Trevon Diggs acts in line with Charvarius Ward

New Scruggs posted a video of the Cowboys CB, Charvarius Ward, and Diggs engaging in a heated conversation with their reporter. Apparently, he was asked about a play where he had a chance to tackle George Kittle but didn’t. The reporter called out this lack of effort and Trevon Diggs wasn’t happy about it. In his mind, the scenario was something else.

Addressing the second-quarter catch and run from Kittle, Diggs said, “That’s what you took from that?” Diggs said. “Out of that whole play, that’s what you took from that? You don’t know football. You can do nothing that I do. Can’t go out there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop trying me, dog.”

The reporter was adamant and wanted to know what went wrong and replied to Trevon’s statements by saying that they could “talk” more about the play. Resorting to a classic insult, Diggs, who had 4 solo tackles and 1 defended pass said, “Talk about deez nuts,” as he walked away. Tuning with teammate Ward.

With this defeat, the Dallas Cowboys are on a two-game losing streak and though Jerry Jones loves attention, this is the kind that he might not want.
