In the heart of another turbulent Cleveland Browns season, Myles Garrett just dropped a bombshell that’s got everyone talking. And no, it wasn’t one of his trademark quarterback sacks. Just 48 hours before adding another notch to his impressive career stats, the Browns‘ defensive powerhouse tackled something much bigger: the future of the franchise itself. Those words hit harder than any of Garrett’s on-field collisions, sending shockwaves through the Browns’ fan base and front office alike. But wait, it gets even more interesting — our man apparently had a little chat with none other than Cleveland’s prodigal son, LeBron James. Talk about taking it to the next level!

This Friday, Mary Kay Cabot posted on her X account confirming Browns player Myles Garrett’s conversation with LeBron James. In the video, Garrett said, “I mean, he is seen everything on the sports side of it. And his advice has been very valuable. Him, his team and just being able to be around them and learn from them has been very useful these last couple years. And there’ve been no more along the way. But definitely using my platform, using my voice to my benefit and to my team’s benefit has been crucial.” Well, it looks like, Myles really take a page from James’ playbook after that eyebrow-raising comment about leaving the Browns.

Two days before hitting another career milestone, Myles Garrett made a big statement during a tough Sunday game in Cincinnati, where he delivered a hard hit — on the Browns themselves. This season has been rough and confusing for Cleveland, and Garrett made it clear he’s not interested in going through another rebuild. “I want the Browns to be able to put me and us in position to win. I’m not trying to rebuild. I’m trying to win right now.” He also hinted for the first time that he might consider leaving the Browns if his goals don’t align with the team’s direction. “It’s a possibility,” he mentioned while talking about playing somewhere else.

Following the DE’s statements, sports analyst Daryl Ruiter also had a few words to add about the situation. During his appearance on 92.3 The Fan, he remarked, “This regime has not delivered the results … Myles Garrett did work out, but he’s not wasting his Hall of Fame career here.”  The Sports analyst was blunt in his analysis, explaining how the Browns’ failure to not add enough talent to the team has cost their DE a whole season. While his observation was crystal clear, it also makes us wonder if Garrett would be a better fit somewhere else. As was the case with QB Baker Mayfield, who didn’t work out with the Browns but is enjoying a thriving career with the Buccaneers. So, we may actually see Garrett follow his good friend LeBron’s advice and shift the tides.

Myles Garrett and LeBron James share the kind of friendship that thrives on mutual respect, especially when it comes to sports. After a big win against the Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers star LeBron made sure to give a special shout-out to his friend Myles. During his postgame interview, he praised the DE by calling him, “an absolute beast” and “Defensive Player of the Year for a reason.”

Earlier this week, they were spotted lifting weights together on LeBron’s Instagram. Standing next to Myles, who towers at 6-foot-4 and weighs 270 pounds, LeBron looked more like Cavs player Evan Mobley at 215 pounds. Even though LeBron is one of the most physically dominant players in the NBA, he seemed smaller next to Garrett.

Myles being crowned the NFL Defensive Player of the Year during the NFL Honors created controversy, given that T.J. Watt from the Pittsburgh Steelers led all players with 19 sacks. Shortly afterward, Watt even tweeted, “Nothing I’m not used to,” likely referring to the snub. Myles had 14 sacks but was a key player in taking the Browns to the playoffs. Even with multiple starting quarterbacks out, Cleveland’s defense, under Garrett’s leadership, swiftly rose to the top of the league under new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. And LeBron was right there supporting Myles.

“I’ve always felt like it’s my job to continue to show the next generation the way, show them the blueprint, regardless of sport,” LeBron once said. He’d even mentioned wanting to join the NFL during the 2011 NBA Lockout. While that’s not an option anymore, he can still pass on his winning mindset to the next wave of football stars. It’s clear that LeBron’s passion for football runs deep. The question now is whether Myles will benefit from James’ counsel this season.
