This cornerback of the Dallas Cowboys is rising fast. Defensive back DaRon Bland had a perfect Thanksgiving, wherein the league and Dallas would be thankful for his impressive performance. Bland not only aided his team into a dominant win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday but also set an electrifying NFL record in the process.

The Cowboys met the Commanders on Thursday night football at 4:30 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Jerry Jones’ team bagged an impressive victory, upsetting the Commanders 45-10. However, the team’s victory wasn’t the only reason for the Cowboys’ fans to celebrate; DaRon Bland’s phenomenal record added the cherry on top.

With 4 minutes and 49 seconds remaining in the game, defensive back DaRon Bland caught the ball thrown by Commanders QB Sam Howell on the far side of the field. He then ran along the sideline, dodging two Commanders players, before reaching the end zone.

This touchdown was Bland’s fifth pick-six of the season, making it a new record in the league. With this, he also broke the records of “Philadelphia’s Eric Allen (1993), Kansas City’s Jim Kearney (1972), and Houston’s Ken Houston (1971),” with whom he tied the record earlier. Furthermore, after achieving this record, his name is now hailed as the top contender for the Defensive Player of the Year.

Besides that, continuing his greatness, Bland also allowed the lowest passer rating this season.

DaRon Bland tops the lowest passer rating list!

It seems this season is of the Cowboys’ defensive back, DaRon Bland. After tying and then breaking the records of the three NFL legends, Bland also hopped into the list of the lowest passer rating allowed by the NFL players. With only a 34.0 rating, Bland tops the list and surpassed nine players this season.

He overshadowed Paulson Adebo (43.0), Martin Emerson (50.2), Denzel Ward (55.4), Ahkello Witherspoon (56.8), L’jarius Sneed (59.1), Darious Williams (59.4), Jaylon Johnson (61.5), Mike Hilton (63.4), and Cam Taylor-Britt (66.3).
