Adam Schefter recently tweeted that the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles game has been the most watched Monday Night Football game since 1996. The game drew a viewership of 29 million people across 6 channels (ESPN, ESPN+, ESPN2, ABC, ESPN Deportes, and NFL+).
The record of highest viewership goes back to 1996 when the Dallas Cowboys went against the Green Bay Packers and garnered an audience of 31.5 million folks all around. Since then, it’s been 450 MNF games and the numbers haven’t been that high. This is one of the best telecasts that the Walt Disney Company has ever had.
It took 27 years for the game of football to amass such viewership numbers. The second most watched game apart from this one, with 21 million watching was the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills game that happened recently.

The talk surrounding the viewership though demands a recollection of the Mini Bowl. The Eagles and the Chiefs, though not in their best form, provided a game of close calls and last-minute thrill to the spectators.
A recap of the Super Bowl rematch!
The clash between the Eagles and the Chiefs seemed like the perfect rematch for last season’s Superbowl final. While the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes’ exceptional skills outplayed the Eagles, it was the Hurts’ men who seemed out for blood this time around. While Travis Kelce looked in need of some lady luck to outperform the stubborn Eagles, his brother Jason Kelce looked unstoppable.

D’Andre Swift and Jason Kelce did wonders in the game. Kelce didn’t leave a chance to shove the opposition to the ground to make way for D’Andre Swift to run. However, more than the classic Eagles’ dominance on the field, it was a lot of botches on the Chiefs’ part that let the Birds win.
Multiple fumbles, Travis Kelce dropping the ball, Scantling missing the game-winning touchdown, and multiple penalties are what became a bane for the Chiefs in the Arrowhead stadium. Not to mention, the game was played in the rain, a disadvantage for both teams. Where Patrick Mahomes stopped to shine, Jalen Hurts picked up pretty well.
