The New York Jets’ season? Yeah, it never really got off the ground—more like a crash landing. Scoring 338 points all season (19.9 per game), their offense looked like it was stuck in traffic with no GPS. Meanwhile, the defense, which was supposed to be their strength, gave up 404 points (23.8 per game)—and let’s just say, they weren’t exactly slamming the door shut on opponents. The result? A brutal 5-13 for Aaron Rodgers‘ team.
Now, let’s be real—Rodgers coming for the next season or not probably look like their secondary concern. Their O-line and D-line struggles are gonna be the most-talked about things in the offseason, considering their 7th overall pick option. And that’s where the NFL draft analyst and the host of Fantasy Football Happy Hour, Connor Rodgers, comes in. Rodgers recently broke down what the Jets should be focusing on in the Draft—both offensively and defensively.
Starting with the defense, he said, “I think they need a household name. Somebody that’s go to play 65 plus percent of the Snaps next to Quinnen [Williams].” He’s not wrong if we’re being honest. The thing is, Jermaine Johnson suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the initial phase of the 2024 season. And his return for the start of the next season seems pretty uncertain. That left the Jets with Will McDonald IV. The kicker?

.@ConnorJRogers told @EGreenbergJets that he thinks the #Jets need to select a ‘household name’ with the No. 7 overall pick:

Well, Rodgers believes that “typically in the NFL, everybody runs three edge rushers as a rotation.” Again correct and with dark clouds looming over Johnson’s future, the team’s gonna need to invest in another edge-rusher. His suggestion? Mason Graham from Michigan. But of course, that’s all taking us back to the NFL draft again. And that’s where the Jets need to make a call.
But what about their offense? I mean, two of the Jets‘ offensive tackles are hitting the free agency this year. First, the Jets signed Tyron Smith, who joined the team after playing with the Cowboys for 11 seasons. And for the Jets? Well, he played ten games before suffering neck injury, and now he’s a free agent in 2025. On the flip side, Morgan Moses had, well… let’s just say it wasn’t a season that had everyone talking, but not for good reasons.
The Jets are probably not gonna go either with Smith or Moses. I mean, of course, the team must be looking for some young talents over 30+ year-0ld veterans. And according to Connor Rodgers, the Jets can pick some new faces in the NFL draft. According to him, “Whether it’s Armand Memboufrom Missouri, you have a Josh Conerly who played at Oregon and then played at a high level. Josh Simmons from Ohio states.”
BUT, Rodgers believes that these players aren’t worthy of an early first-round pick, but if the Jets trade back, they might have a shot at landing one of them at a better value.
Later, he shifted to one more on the Jets’ O-line—the wide receiver. His preferred choice? It’s Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona. But why McMillan? It’s pretty simple. The guy’s 6’5″, has great movement skills, and is a red zone threat, making him an ideal complement to Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson.
Speaking of Adams, the wideout was reunited with Aaron Rodgers and, as usual, the two looked together in the 2024 season. But! But!! The talk of the town is that Rodgers may not return for the 2025 season. Meaning? Well, that means Adams may not return as well. That means McMillan’s drafting can work in their favor.
However, it looks like Aaron Rodgers might just land a team to wrap up his career next season—kind of like how Tom Brady did.

Aaron Rodgers needs a new home to finish out his career
At this point, the New York Jets keep making wild moves of why not just roll with Aaron Rodgers—who might play his last season in 2025. The latest one? The veteran QB may have to ditch appearing on the Pat McAfee Show in the future if he wants to be a part of the roster. On top of that, last week, Rodgers met with the front office only to find out that the team intends to move in a different direction with QB. Now where will he land in 2025?
For starters, some believe he may join Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025. The reason? There’s plenty of ’em. Most notably, Tom Brady’s minority ownership can play a crucial role in this Rodgers-Raiders pairing, considering the NFL GOAT carries a plenty of influence in the organization.
Second, Brady can push the Raiders’ management for a potential trade for Rodgers who just like him looking for another team to finish his career. On top of that, the Raiders have recently hired Pete Carroll as their next head coach—who doesn’t seem to have a connection with the Raiders’ current QB1 Aiden O’Connell.

Now the thing is, Raiders going for Aaron Rodgers surely gonna have everyone talking if this trade succeeds. But at the end of the day, this pairing feels like a long shot, and Rodgers’ future next season is still hanging by a thread.
