Amid a great deal of excitement and controversy, Shedeur Sanders is making his way to the NFL Draft. Being a gifted QB, the 23-year-old has the ability to revolutionize any team he joins. And it looks like Sanders has been projected as the second overall choice in ESPN’s mock draft. Does this mean that the Browns will sign him? Well if Jordan Reid from ESPN is to be believed, then that’s what will happen.

Jordan Reid’s official mock draft from ESPN astonished everyone. The biggest surprise was in the beginning, where Reid highlighted a possible trade between the Titans and the Giants. As a result, the Giants will select the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Reid also forecasted that the Browns would be the team to get Shedeur Sanders after the Giants pick their star. Confused? Let’s break it down!

According to the reporter, Sanders may be the ideal quarterback for the team, which is in dire need of one. The failure of the Deshaun Watson trade dealt the team serious blows already. And as a result, the organization is under pressure both internally and externally. They have to play well this season, and acquiring a quarterback like Shedeur Sanders might be their best option.

The report read, “With the Browns facing a lot of pressure to win next season, both internally and externally, they must figure out a long-term solution at quarterback to dig themselves out of the rubble of the failed Deshaun Watson trade. Sanders is a picture-perfect fit as a polished pocket passer with toughness and excellent ball placement— traits of quarterbacks who have excelled in Kevin Stefanski’s scheme. Sanders has been in the spotlight his entire life and would welcome the challenge of boosting the Browns’ last-place scoring offense.”

But why exactly is Shedeur Sanders worth for the Browns? What exactly has he done? Well, first of all, the young QB had an amazing season in 2024, leading the Colorado Buffaloes to a 9–4 record. And in addition to being a good team leader, the quarterback accumulated 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns. Jeez! In addition to these several accomplishments, Sanders also got the coveted Johnny Unitas Golden Arm honor and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award. All this indicates that the young player can have a huge impact on the team he join.

Even though his game, abilities, and stats are all excellent, there is still one problem. The young quarterback has been the subject of numerous rumors and reports about a controversy, which has damaged his reputation with teams.

Shedeur Sanders caused a great deal of controversy with his inappropriate behavior

For an aspiring rookie athlete, it might occasionally be detrimental to be overly brash. Shedeur Sanders was a little too brazen at the NFL Combine. So much so that some reporters began to accuse the quarterback of being “brash” and “arrogant” with them. Sounds like problem, right? The reports don’t stop there; they also assert that Sanders’ haughtiness was the cause of his failure to participate in the drill at the NFL Combine.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Shedeur Sanders' confidence a sign of greatness or a red flag for the Browns?

Have an interesting take?

The 23-year-old was too confident in his skills, and even went on to state: “There should be no question why a franchise should pick me.” Some people speculate that the young player’s negative attitude may have been caused by his father, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Furthermore, these theories even suggest that Deion may have spoiled his son somewhat, despite teaching him a variety of moves. Perhaps this is why Shedeur Sanders feels certain that teams would require him instead of the other way around.

The young QB has drawn a lot of criticism for this kind of behavior. But it can have an impact on his contract with the team he signs it with. The Cleveland Browns should be prepared to handle the 23-year-old’s attitude if they decide to sign him. Or perhaps his mindset would shift once he gets in a team and sees what the NFL world looks like.
