Saquon Barkley has truly worked as a charm for his team. For a long time, the Eagles lacked a game-changer, and Barkley has been a great one this season. The dude was a beast in 2024, even helping his team win the Big Game. Winning the Super Bowl was a dream come true for him, and his fiancee Anna Congdon reacted similarly.

Congdon is not only Barkley’s fiancee; they also have two children. All three are huge Eagles and Barkley fans. And obviously, they were definitely in New Orleans to see him achieve the biggest moment of his career. Anna Congdon joined the discussion panel to share how it was a dream come true for her as well: “This is everything. He works harder than everyone I’ve ever met. To see him do this, this is just my dream to see him do this, living his dream”

This would have been a fantastic moment for Saquon Barkley. He was chuckling beside Anna while she said all of these things. Not only that, but Saquon Barkley Jr., who is just two years old, said “Go Daddy Go” in celebration of his father’s Super Bowl victory. 2024 has truly transformed the RB’s career from top to bottom, with some reports even claiming that he has revolutionized the NFL.

Some reports concerning Saquon Barkley surfaced, claiming that the Eagles have the potential to develop him into a strong player in the future. Not just any strong player, but one around whom an entire team can be created. According to certain sources, industry insiders also refer to him as a “generational talent.”

Howie Roseman who is the Executive Vice President of the Eagles also appreciated the RB. He too claimed, “I’d like to say he’s exceeded expectations, but he’s always been one of the best players I’ve ever seen whenever I’ve watched him. And I have always known about what kind of person he is because it’s not hard to find that out. So I’m really not surprised by any of this, and I don’t say that in an arrogant way, it’s based on who he is, nothing to do with me, because this is who he’s always been.”

Have an interesting take?

Can the Philadelphia Eagles re-sign Saquon Barkley earlier than expected?

Well, in short: No. Despite his 2503 passing yards and 18 touchdowns, Barkley has pushed his way into the team. However, it appears that the Eagles do not want to rely solely on the running back. And there is only one explanation for this: his age. For those who don’t know, Barkley will turn 28 this year, which means he will be 30 when his contract expires.

Barkley’s three-year contract is slated to end in 2026. And the Eagles have been explicit with him about the terms of re-signing. According to some observers, while Saquon Barkley had a great season this year, his performance over the next two years will be more important. And based on that, the Eagles would consider extending his deal.

But do you believe this is a reasonable move by the team? Should they only offer him an extension in 2025? Tell us in the comments.
