Carolina Panthers may have come up with a decision that could solve their disgraceful performances in this year’s NFL. After continuing their start to the season, the Panthers have decided to pull the plug on the former No.1 overall draft pick, Bryce Young. With just two starts in his sophomore year, Young has found his place on the bench as backup QB Andy Dalton gets promotion.
From the moment Young landed in Carolina, he has been the subject of harsh criticism. Although he had a dismal start to his NFL career, having gone for 2-14, this news may come as a shock to many. The NFL community was the first one to express their distaste as one of the fans wrote, “Lowkey feel bad for Bryce Young. He’s human at the end of the day. YK, he be seeing all the jokes on here. Pray for that man’s mental.”

Well, it surely comes as a surprise as neither player would want to see themselves on the bench after two weeks of the regular season. But in the case of Young, he might not have anything to say in his defense. After throwing for 84 yards, zero touchdowns, three interceptions and a passing completion percentage of 55.4. Young had a difficult time against the Chargers, who dealt a striking blow to the Panthers by recording a 26-3 victory in Carolina.
This means the Panthers have ended up losing their first two games under new head coach Dave Canales. To bring an urgent change in fortunes, Canales has opted for an experienced QB like Dalton, who has gone for 83-78-2 in 163 starts over 14 years. Although he might not completely change the form of the Panthers, he would surely have better control of the offense.
Bryce has mightily struggled to look comfortable while panicking at the pocket, thereby leading to poor decisions that cost the team heavily. Seeing the decision taken by Canales, he was primarily brought in to improve the QB room in Carolina. After his success with Geno Smith in Seattle and Baker Mayfield in Tampa, the Panthers have high hopes from their recently appointed head coach.

Fan Reactions pour in as Bryce Young gets benched for Andy Dalton
Panthers’ woeful start to the season eventually led to Young making his way to the bench. As Andy Dalton is poised to start the next match for the Panthers, fans have poured in with their reactions on social media. One of them wrote, “Wow! That’s basically the end of the Bryce Young era in Carolina.” Although we don’t know for sure whether it’s the final nail in the coffin of Young’s Panthers tenure. It might be a decision that can lead to him leaving the franchise for good.

Some of them also decided to call out Panthers’ management, “Panthers failed Bryce. It’s going to be Josh Rosen 2.0, but even worse. Panthers need to clean house, from ownership all the way down. Maybe give Dave Canales a real chance, but at this point, the franchise needs a cleanse.” Well, this fan wasn’t the only one who criticised the Panthers organization, “Say what you want about Bryce Young, but the Panthers have absolutely failed in him every way. Truly sad.”
After deciding to walk on this path, the Panthers can only hope it can steady the ship in Carolina. But will it be enough for them to record their first win of the season as the next stop is the Raiders in Las Vegas?
