Very few things in life can trigger a person’s emotions more than sports. Especially if one’s favorite team performs poorly or loses, it will be upsetting and is surely going to garner some reaction. Well, this is exactly what happened after the Bills lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Following the game, veteran QB Robert Griffin III shared his thoughts on the same, some of which didn’t sit well with the Bills fans.
The former Ravens QB appeared on Kay Adams’ “Up and Adams” program where he shared his opinion about Josh Allen and how he should be the one being criticized for the Bills loss. Griffin said, “No one has pointed this out…I’ve watched the tape back multiple times, Josh Allen could have actually adjusted the protection and got that blitz picked up. But no one is talking about that because I think there’s a fear right now amongst the media to criticize Josh Allen because he’s been so great. And I do think Josh Allen is a great quarterback.”

At the two-minute warning, the Bills were trailing the Chiefs 29-32. This is when Josh Allen threw to Kincaid, who had managed to get behind the Chiefs’ defense but failed to make the catch. This was enough for the defending champions as they ran down the clock to win the AFC championship. Well, according to Griffin, it’s not Kincaid, (who let the ball slip through his hands) who is to be blamed for the loss, but rather it is the Bills QB who is at fault.
Josh Allen has been the main man for the Bills and completed 24/34 passes for 237 passing yards, having 2 passing touchdowns and a 104.7 passer rating against the Chiefs. The superstar QB has produced many such performances for the Bills this season and over the years. So one could have expected fans to be unhappy when their star player was criticized. But to what level? Several fans were really unhappy with what Griffins said and even resolved to send death threats to the veteran QB.
The Bills mafia is with Griffin
Griffin recently took to X to share what he went through and how several fans came after him. He shared, “I get it #Billsmafia, You lost to the Chiefs again. It hurts. I’m doing my job and analyzing the game.”Griffin also talked about how he was just analyzing that particular play and that he loves Allen. ” I love Josh Allen’s game and don’t think it’s his fault they lost the AFC Championship game.”
The thing though that Griffin addressed mainly was how he got attacked by several people. He said, “No amount of death threats, calling me the n-word, or personal attacks will make me shy away from giving the people the insight they deserve.” With that said, the former NFL QB also mentioned that he knows that few fans do not represent the whole fandom. Well, this seems to be exactly right, as many people have since come in support of Griffin.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Robert Griffin III right to call out Josh Allen, or is he just stirring the pot?

Mark Gunnels took to X and shared, “People are so nasty, man. Sorry you had to deal with this my guy.” While another fan urged Griffin to never stop sharing his thoughts and be himself. He shared, “Just be you sir! We appreciate your candor and experience in your analysis. Remember “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience” Mark Twain. God bless.”

PACE News Washington DC correspondent Sebastian Ridley-Thomas also shared his thoughts, saying, “Sorry some people used alcohol to manage their mental health before becoming keyboard warriors rather than taking their medication and going to sleep after the disappointment/deep melancholy of their team losing…again. 🫢”

Another fan talked about how, while he did not agree with Griffins’ analysis, he respected them and was sorry. He said, “Sorry you got to deal with that. While I disagree with the idea that he could have adjusted the shift, I do respect your knowledge of the game and your insights.”

Another member of the Bills Mafia took to X and apologized to Griffins, calling out those ‘fans’. They Shared, “Woah I haven’t seen any of that. Sorry to hear you are getting treated poorly. Those are definitely NOT true Bills fans.”
It was great to see that even though there were people who took it a step further, true fans have stood in support of Griffins. People might not agree with the man, but all of them apologized to him for the negativity he faced, supported him, and urged him to carry on with what he did and never change.
