Bijan Robinson, the Atlanta Falcons’ fresh-faced running back, isn’t just watching his NFL heroes in awe. Robinson is taking notes, getting inspired, and ready to add his own twist. The admiration he holds for players like Saquon Barkley doesn’t end on the sidelines. Instead, it just fuels his drive to keep pushing the boundaries. Both Robinson and Barkley are at running back positions for their respective teams. So, it’s also a shared bond that resonated deeply when Barkley executed one of the season’s most talked about moves.

Barkley’s reverse hurdle move during the November 3 game amazed and inspired Bijan Robinson, as he shared in his recent chat with Rich Eisen on The Rich Eisen Show. Robinson didn’t hold back his excitement after witnessing Saquon Barkley’s jaw-dropping reverse hurdle against the Jaguars. This is more than just admiration. Bijan Robinson is seriously considering adding the move to his own repertoire, even if it means “risking his neck” to perfect it.

Watching the game live, Robinson could hardly believe what he was seeing. “Ain’t no way that just happened,” the RB laughed while recalling his initial reaction. But when the replay confirmed that Barkley had indeed jumped over the defender, Bijan’s disbelief turned into a desire. “I gotta try this,” he remarked with conviction, while adding that he might start practicing with something less risky – maybe even asking his coach to stand in for practice jumps.

During the interview, Eisen noticed Robinson’s enthusiasm. He brought up the concept of ‘playing free‘—those moments on the field when players act instinctively and don’t overthink their moves. The running back agreed, describing how that fearless state of mind fuels moves like Barkley’s. However, he also acknowledged the risks, especially when going airborne. “Last time I tried to jump over somebody, I almost broke my neck,” he admitted.

The RB also recognized the thin line between playing free and “playing out of mind.” Watching Barkley in action showed him exactly how thrilling that balance could be.

The November 3 game between the Philly team and the Jags was a hard-fought contest. Barkley was eager to make a mark, especially with the Eagles needing a breakthrough against the Jaguars’ tight defense. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the Eagles were leading their opponents with a score of 28-16. Playing along, the Eagles widened the gap, all thanks to a one-handed touchdown catch by DeVonta Smith. With 7:43 left in the game, it was only a matter of time before some explosive moves rolled in.

Barkley’s reverse hurdle—leapfrog, to be precise— took place at a critical moment. The Jacksonville D-Line was trying to contain Philly’s offense, and it seemed like they might succeed. But the RB saw on opening, spun around, and launched himself over a Jacksonville defender that left fans and analysts buzzing. The move not only stunned the crowd but also seemed to shift the momentum in Eagles’ favor.
