The Dallas Cowboys are extremely lucky to have a weapon like CeeDee Lamb in their arsenal. His exceptional route picking, agility, and athleticism make him a genuine threat for a lot of WRs in the league. The man had more than 200 receiving yards in the game against the Detroit Lions. Safe to say that a lot of other receivers in the NFL are not doing what he does. The game against the Cowboys came with a lot of controversy, but there isn’t any about Lamb.

Mike McCarthy took the podium after the game against the Lions and had a few thoughts to share about their WR1 and had nothing but praises to offer him. The Cowboys will soon have a showdown with the Washington Commanders and McCarthy, being the HC, has a lot of expectations from Lamb.

It hasn’t been long since Mike McCarthy joined the Dallas Cowboys as their HC. The reporter from the Athletic brought it up and asked the HC about how his experience with CeeDee Lamb has been. He also brought up the fact that the WR is the go-to person for the Cowboys as far as their offense is concerned and wanted to know the HC’s take on the WR and what stands out about him.

“I mean, I think, when you know you look at CeeDee obviously he is extremely gifted, you know in so many ways. Physically, there’s really nothing that he can’t do but I think that’s the way you have to play the wide receiver position.” Said McCarthy to the reporter.

McCarthy then pointed out how difficult it is to cover the WR and the teams that the Cowboys have played so far, naturally gravitated towards 2-man coverage on CeeDee Lamb. In addition to this, the HC highlighted Lamb’s “ability to play inside and outside” to be “versatile”. The Coach pointed out how this gives him the edge over the DBs and complimented him on his “extensive route menu”.

McCarthy didn’t stop here as he also commented on Lamb’s competitive spirit as well. In the game against the Lions, CeeDee came out with a total of 227 receiving yards with 13 receptions and a receiving TD. But is the WR ready to face the Commanders next?

In all objectivity, the Cowboys are a superior team to the Commanders. The Washington team is one of the worst in the league right now with a 7-game losing streak. If there were good defensive players on the team, maybe there would have been able to stop CeeDee Lamb. However, time is unpredictable and can change the momentum of the game anytime.

For the most part, it looks like the Cowboys are going to have some fun with the Commanders. Because in a 2021 game, they beat the Commanders by a landslide score of 56-14. This year they beat them with a score of 45-10. The Commanders might just be a historically bad team and the Cowboys might prove it once again with a WR like Lamb.
