The National Rugby League is all set to take part in the revolutionary aspect! For the first time, the NRL will be kicking off its season on American soil. And the Sydney Roosters captain James Tedesco, in his exclusive interview with Essentially Sports, talks about a switch to the NFL like his compatriot!

Jordan Mailata of the South Sydney Rabbitohs was thriving in the NRL. However, he got discovered by the NFL scouts through YouTube and made the switch in 2018 at the age of 21. Can 31-year-old Tedesco be expected to do the same?

In his exclusive interview with Essentially Sports, the fullback Tedesco said, “So, very envious of what he’s (Mailata) been able to do”. When further enquired about making the same switch the Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle did, the captain did not hesitate in letting his feelings known to the world!

Unlike, Mailata, Tedesco has a chance to impress the NFL scouts on American soil during the games. But, he thinks the boat has sailed for him, due to his age!

“But if I… came over a bit earlier like Jordan did. I might have been a chance to make it in an NFL career, but I’m a bit too far into my in a real career now to make a switch”, said Tedesco in his exclusive interview. However, he and other NRL stars have an opportunity to impress the American crowds soon enough.

The NRL has a doubleheader opening planned for the American audiences. With four of the best teams taking part in this historic venture. The Manly Sea Eagles vs. the South Sydney Rabbitohs will start the show on March 2nd. And the Brisbane Broncos will be taking on James Tedesco’s Sydney Roosters in the NRL’s second offering.
