Is it time for the Packers to move on from Jordan Love after his latest injury scare?

When a former Packers’ QB sounds the alarm for the current one, you know it’s not just another Sunday in Green Bay. As the Packers geared up to battle Minnesota with Jordan Love, you could practically hear the collective gasp from the cheeseheads.

Kurt Benkert took to X with a hot take that raised eyebrows and hearts: “Take Jordan out, it’s not worth it.” And just when we thought it couldn’t get any more dramatic, CBS jumped in, posting that “Jordan Love appears to have a bit of a limp in his gait as he moves around.” Talk about adding fuel to the fire! Packers’ senior writer Zachary Jacobson dropped the scoop that Love snagged his left knee after that limp but managed to walk back to the huddle after getting helped up.

Fast forward to 4,884 miles from the QB’s MCL sprain in Brazil (yeah, the NFL really went global), and he was back in action for what fans hoped would be a triumphant return. Initially, the prognosis had him out for three to six weeks, but the Utah State standout clearly was not one to sit on the sidelines for long—he was ready to roll after just two games.

Last season, Love dazzled with 4,159 yards and 32 TDs, leading the Pack to the playoffs and scoring an extension in the offseason. But fate dealt a cruel hand when he was sidelined on the third-to-last play of the season opener. Fans couldn’t help but wonder: was rushing him back too risky?

And if disaster strikes and Jordan Love gets knocked out for good? Who knows, it could be the next man up before anyone even has a chance to blink!

Malik Willis: Green Bay’s savior after Jordan Love’s injury

As Love’s health hangs in the balance, the Packers are eyeing Malik Willis as their QB lifeboat. Willis was snagged in a trade from Tennessee like a last-minute Amazon Prime delivery. He rolled into Green Bay on Aug. 26 and, just weeks later, led the Packers to a shocking 30-14 victory (throwing 202 yards, while completing 13 of 19 passes with a TD) against the very team that drafted him. “I just cannot articulate the job that he’s done in this short period of time,” coach Matt LaFleur gushed.

But let’s not give all the credit to Willis—his defense was on fire, racking up eight sacks (the most since 2005) and forcing three turnovers. Safety Xavier McKinney was playing like a man possessed, with a pick in every game so far. Jaire Alexander even got in on the action with a pick-six. The defense helped Malik Willis play with confidence, giving him a lead to work with. A true team effort!

And while Sean Clifford’s waiting in the wings, there’s some buzz around a potential trade that could shake things up even more. NESN’s Jason Ounpraseuth threw Mac Jones‘ name into the mix as a possible target. Imagine the drama if Green Bay swoops in and lands the former Patriots QB!

What’s next for Green Bay: Stick with Willis or make a blockbuster move? Whatever they choose, one thing’s for sure: every snap counts, and the clock’s ticking!
