What is next for Travis Kelce after the NFL? Kansas City Chiefs‘ TE is the poster boy for American football thanks to his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift. While there is no doubt that Kelce’s popularity is only shooting up, fans are also wondering what is next for the NFL star. According to a Pro Football Hall of Famer, Kelce should take a page out of Tom Brady’s book.
Highly-regarded former NFL running back Eric Dickerson, who served as a Monday Night Football sideline reporter, opined on the tight end’s next career move. On June 16, during an interview with TMZ Sports, the former broadcaster claimed Kelce would bring value to television thanks to the latter’s stellar career on the gridiron. He already has some experience on the small screen with his own 2016 reality show, “Catching Kelce” and hosting “Saturday Night Live.”

“Travis has a great personality,” said the 63-year-old. Eric pointed out, “He’s a great player. He knows football extremely well. He’s won a couple Super Bowls. I don’t think you can lose with that.” If Kelce does indeed start a broadcasting career, he would follow Tom Brady’s footsteps.
After retiring from the NFL in 2023, Tom Brady started his broadcasting career with the UFL Championship game on June 16, 2024. The 46-year-old will start his broadcasting career with the regular season game between the Browns and the Cowboys on September 8. The former Pats GOAT has signed a 10-year deal worth $375 million with FOX. While Kelce can certainly bag a similar deal, he is currently focused on his playing career.
Travis Kelce is not planning on retiring anytime soon
Following the Super Bowl LVIII game, there was a lot of speculation about Travis Kelce potentially walking away from the sport. But, addressing queries about his future after the Kansas City Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp the 34-year-old made his intentions clear and claimed he is focused on training ahead of the 2024 season and wants to keep going till the “wheels fall off.”

“I’m gonna do it until the wheels fall off,” said Kelce. “I love coming to work every single day.” He also addressed the “opportunities” he has “outside football.” The Cleveland native will make his acting debut with Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror television show “Grotesquerie.” Rumormills also suggest that Dwayne Johnson is reportedly helping Kelce secure a $100 million Hollywood blockbuster.
Other than his acting opportunities Kelce also has a famous podcast with his brother Jason Kelce called “New Heights.” His growing fan following online due to his association with Taylor Swift has earned him $2.43 million from NFL royalties after the merchandise sales skyrocketed 177%. So whether he chooses acting or a broadcasting career, we hope his wheels don’t fall off anytime soon because we do love seeing him on the gridiron.
