Can Jared Goff's resilience lead the Lions to their first Super Bowl win despite recent setbacks?

Jared Goff has been an amazing quarterback for the Lions. He has taken them to 8-1 after week 10. At the top of their division NFC North and the conference, the Lions are looking like a giant, ready to conquer the Super Bowl in the coming February. But like all the big stories, he has fallen during the quest and got back up.

Against the Texans, he had 5 interceptions. Unbelievable, right? He had 15 of 30 passes (50% completion rate) with 240 yards and 2 touchdowns. NFL legend Robert Griffin III tweeted that though Jared Goff ended his MVP chances with 5 interceptions, he would be happy with a Super Bowl win.

Mr. Perfect, as he is famously known, has been doing everything greatly. He was recently declared the NFL Offensive Player of the Month and also won a national survey, declaring him as the mid-season MVP. It wasn’t a regular achievement. Beating the best of the league after 8 weeks was no easy task. The fans love him.

Jared Goff occupied the top position with 31% of votes. 5 other quarterbacks, namely Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, and CJ Stroud, couldn’t topple him. A complete team man, he would be happy with his team winning the Trophy. However, the MVP would have also added a star to his name.

All in all, after winning 8 games, they are set to play in the playoffs. But the fans want more. It’s a race for the Trophy.

HC Dan Campbell praises Jared Goff

Sometimes, the numbers can mislead. It happened between the Texans vs Lions. In the first half, the former were winning, ending it with 23-7. But the Lions aren’t used to giving up. This season, they have often snatched wins in the last seconds. It happened against the Vikings when Jake Bates scored a field goal with 15 seconds remaining, taking them to a 31-29 win.

Against Texans, they had a similar comeback. During the 3rd quarter, they scored another touchdown. In the 4th quarter, with 1 touchdown and 2 field goals, they secured the win. Jared Goff never looked tired or worried about his performance. In the field, there is only one target: victory!

Yeah, he’s playing good. He’s a good quarterback. So, I don’t really see this like I’m blown away. I expect that from him,” said head coach Dan Campbell while talking about his mid-season MVP signal caller. In 8 games this year, Goff has been amazing. His 74.9% pass completion rate has turned into a very dangerous one as well.

But the 5 interceptions against the Texans would give him a personal loss. It’s not for the team. The locker room is happy they won the game, eventually. His sacrifices for the team make him one of the best in the league currently. Can he win his first Super Bowl? It would be exciting for sure.
