Matt LaFleur is the only coach of the Green Bay Packers who has won the first career game after Vince Lombardi in 2019. The 45-year-old has been leading the wolf pack of Green Bay since his inception into the organization. Talking about the current season, LaFleur’s guys have entered the wild card round with a record of 11-6 in the regular season. But before you make any conclusions, it’s worth knowing the Ex-NFLer’s take on Matt LaFleur.
The Ex-NFLer Mark Sanchez, who has been the quarterback for six different NFL teams, including the Eagles, was on Colin Cowherd’s show The Herd with Cowherd. Colin asked Sanchez about Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers playing against his former team. And Sanchez’s response on the defensive plays of the Packers was a little of a shock. He said, “I think, when talk of [Christian] Watson, I know it’s a factor but I don’t know it’s not the major factor. He was there, six in receptions and third in yards. So, of course, he was a big play guy. But I think with Reed, Kraft, and other players, I think, they are gonna be fine if they ride that game like Jacobs can do, who provides a lot of cover to [Jordan] Love who is nursing the injury.” That’s a serious thing to say.
Sanchez also opined on Jordan Love’s injury he suffered in the final game, saying, “More than that I’m looking at is the groin injury. You know, every time you throw, it just keeps aggravating.” The Packers QB was taken out of the 2nd half when he was feeling in pain throwing his elbow. One of the important things Sanchez pointed out was the real threat to the Packers.

He said, “When you talk about big-play receiver AJ Brown and defender Nixon, remember the Packers lost Alexander in IR. And without a premier corner like that, you gotta get a little exotic with your coverages.” Well, with one of the key matchups out on the edge, this could be a serious worry.
Alright, all set to see what’s gonna happen in the Packers’ upcoming matchup.
Will Nick Sirianni’s Eagles square up with Matt LaFleur’s Packers
Well, this gonna be the most exciting wild card game. But this gonna be a tough tussle with Saquon Barkley‘s offense. On this note, Mark Sanchez has said, “If you look at Philly’s offense, the offense runs through Saquon Barkley. They own the line of scrimmage.” The rushing-yards king has a strong offensive line and that’s gonna be the headache for Matt LaFleur and the Packers in the wild-card round.

But if you look at the statistical history between the two teams, the scenario is different. According to ‘The Football Database’, the Eagles and Packers have played 47 total games, irrespective of the season. And you know how many games the Packers have won out of 47? They have dominated the Eagles with the 28 victory. However, talking about the postseason history, this would be their 4th face-off. The Eagles lead with a 2-1 post-season record. But when these two met last time in 2010, the Packers got the better of them 21-16. Now the Eagles would certainly look to square up, while the Packers would like to win for the equalizer.

But the Packers fan gotta hold on. The team the Eagles have right now is nothing less than a killer one. And as cornerback Watson is injured the right knee, the Packers and Matt LaFleur have to go hard and play hard.
