Is Joe Burrow really the franchise savior, or are the Bengals setting themselves up for more heartbreak?

Who Dey Nation, we know what y’ll are thinking. Yesterday’s loss against the Chiefs. The game was nerve-wracking. Everyone was waiting for the game. It was a decider of the best quarterback between Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes. The latter won in the end (literally). As the clock read 00:00, back-to-back Super Bowl winners broke Bengals by 26-25. Analysts are now weighing in on the loss.

Former Cowboys linebacker Chris Canty tore into the Bengals QB and offense. Speaking on the ESPN Unsportsmanlike Show, he said, “I expected a dog fight in yesterday’s game. I just didn’t think Joe Burrow and Bengal’s offense did that in the 4th quarter. I get that Joe Burrow looked phenomenal. You should have held on to your Burrow stock. No, I am still selling the Joe Burrow stock. I am still selling the Bengals stock.” For those of you who are wondering, he ranted out against the quarterback after the week 1 loss against Patriots.

The week 2 game only adds to the list of worries for the Bungles. They were cruising to a win, but losing at the last moment is nothing less than a heartbreak. Burrow is under pressure to win matches for the team (after coming back from injury). The ex-NFL star mentioned this and said, “What I thought was different about this Bengals team was that you had your quarterback healthy during the training camp. For them to get on to 0-2 start is an ominous sign for the season. So, I am still in a selling posture for the Cincinnati Bengals stock.” After having his wrist surgically repaired, Joe Cool is at the center of the spotlight. Everyone is doubtful if he is still as good as he was before. But the loss wasn’t his mistake.

While you can argue that the offense didn’t capitalize on the chances, many fans are questioning the defensive pass interference call on rookie Daijahn Anthony. The crucial mistake by the rookie on 4th and 16 with 38 seconds remaining costed them the game. Harrison Butker scored the field goal from 51 yards, handing the loss to the Bengals.

During the last 38 seconds, Burrow and rest of Bengals offense couldn’t sit. The scores read 25-23 in their favor. When Anthony made the interference, the QB raised his hands in celebration. Before that, the WR Ja’Marr Chase also had a heated argument with the referee. Chiefs’ cornerback Trent McDuffie made a tackle on the receiver, who immediately started pleading for a flag. But his aggressive pursuit turned back on him. While Joe Burrow tried to calm him down, the referee called a penalty on him on unsportsmanlike behavior. The team was pushed back 15 yards. Now, the time is to plot the moves right.

The Bengals are in a dire need of a win. Who Dey Nation can’t afford a 0-3. That’s too deep. Can Joe Burrow lead his men to a victorious pursuit against Commanders in week 3? Stay tuned! We’ll keep bringing more stories.
